You don't make jokes.......and I NEVER said I speak for all Gays and Lesbians, but you seem to think that studies like the one Regnerus did obviously speaks for all Gay and Lesbian parents, right? And there are WAY more that just 2 Lesbian couples raising children out there and there are many families headed by Gay couples as well!!!

By my own comment, I clearly stated "SOME" heterosexual parents are bad......but then "SOME" Same-Sex Couples are not good parents either......but that is the nature of society......and you can't LUMP all heterosexual parents together and claim they are ALL better parents than Same-Sex couples......because that is a false statement.......even the studies done don't make an ABSOLUTE claim of one set of parents being better than the other......that is a claim you and others try to make because of your own personal feelings on the subject!!!

hitler and mao??? Really????
You were the one who said you keep company with terrible parents...don't get mad at me because you 'exposed' yourself (no pun intended)...
Because your religious fanaticism is the root of your problem.

It's not my problem that most heteros are terrible parents & terrible spouses to boot.

Ummmm that's incorrect. In fact, if you ask the 'direct' question to someone (if they support gay marriage), the majority (over 60%) will so 'no'..but when you cloud the issue and try to throw in civil unions to circumvent same sex marriage...the majority (combined) will say they support ssm or civil unions...it's a polling tactic that's been used for years...
Nope, nothing on the ballot questions in Maine, Maryland, Washington, or Minnesota said anything about civil unions.

The majority in Maine, Maryland, & Washington voted in favor of marriage for same-sex couples.

The majoirty of voters in Minnesota voted against a constitutional ban on same-sex couples marrying.

Yep, we won the last four votes and none of them said anything about civil unions.

Btw, most polls now as specifically about marriage and not civil unions.

Absolutely not...just as I don't think it spoke for all non-lesbians....

No one is 'lumping' anything....the study produced a result...many studies have produced the same result on different circumstances...it stands to reason that if a(mom/dad)=b(best environment over step/single parent)---& b(best environment)=c (mom/dad/ over ss parents)----that a=c. It doesn't take Einstein to figure that out....

They are not saying 'every single heterosexual couple' will make better parents than 'every single gay couple', they can't deal in 'individual circumstances' for a study...they have to deal with what the 'overall' data shows them.....

And there is no overall data showing that stable two-parent households are measurably better or worse depending on the gender of the parents. There isn't a single study out there that proves that. Even Regnerus said that his study did not make that comparison.

By your logic, however, if we could show that parents who imbibe, on average, are not as good as parents who don't, we should outlaw anyone who drinks from parenting--or at least from adopting. And we should definitely prevent them from marrying. If we could show that smoke-free environments are better for children, then we should forbid adoptions by smokers. And we should prevent them from marrying. If we can show that able-bodied parents provide better care than disabled, we should prevent them from adopting or marrying.

See how silly your logic is?

As I pointed out before, children are better off when they are adopted into stable, loving homes. Preventing same-sex parenting prevents children from being adopted into stable, loving homes. It does not in any way enhance the quality of life of any child anywhere.

Actually, that's not true...the reason mom/dads are the best environment is because of the different/complimentary way they contribute to the raising of the children....

It's not about outlawing legal behaviors....however, the effects of 'abuse' of alcohol/drugs on the family has many different studies that actually show the same conclusions...

It's only 'silly' because you are making these items part of criteria that wasn't covered under the study....

Children are 'best equipped' to be more emotional stable/successful adults when they are raised in the home with their married biological parents in a low conflict relationship....

That's what we need to focus on and work towards as a nation...

Nope, no option for civil unions on the ballot in Maine, Washington, Maryland, or Minnesota.

And I have checked polling organizations; most don't ask about civil unions either.

Nope, no proof that kids raised by married opposite-sex parents turn out any better than kids raised by married same-sex parents.

None whatsoever.
