if you are disputing that the children of married couples fare better, you are just being delusional...
i am saying that if the couple is married or not will have no effect on their parenting skills.
so why would a married couple raise better kids than a couple that is not married?

<quoted text>i said being married does not make people better parents.
get your facts straight.
if you had evidence to suggest getting a marraige certificate increased one's parenting skills, you would have shown it by now, but, of course, you know that is not true.
Oh contrar mon frar......you also stated it had no effect on a child's development...still keeping w/ that lie too??

Again, that's what parents are for; to worry about the things our kids don't because they're kids.
Obviously you've never been a parent.
So quit lying on the kids...they don't care about 'protections'...they care about the 'security' of having know mom and dad are married and they are not going anywhere...

Yep, like the "dream" we'd first get civil unions. That dream came true in 1999.
Yep, like the "dream" we'd be able to legally marry. That dream came true in 2004.
Yep, like the "dream" a state would pass marriage equality through the legislature. That dream came true in 2009.
Yep, like the "dream" a state would vote down a anti-gay marriage amendment. That dream came true in 2012.
Yep, like the "dream" a state would pass marriage equality by popular vote. That dream came true in 2012 as well.
Gee, seems like our "dreams" are coming true.
Yep, like the "dream" that heterosexuality will be villified as corrupt and "unnatural."

And many of them are absolutely horrible parents as well as horrible spouses on their 2nd or 3rd marriages already.
Of course, homosexuals are exempt from those scenarios.

He's disputing that being married automatically makes you a better parent.

Kids of married couples fare better because of the higher level of committment present among married couples (generally speaking) and the legal protections marriage provides.

Right, kids want the security of having their parents around. I never said otherwise.

That's exactly why you should support same-sex couples being able to marry so their kids have that same security it provides kids being raised by opposite-sex parents.

Don't get your panties in a bunch...it was just an off-color joke....

So, you speak for every homosexual in the universe, huh??? Good to know....

By your own admission most of the het parents you know are 'not' bad parents....just like I'm sure some of the gay parents you know are not 'good' parents...

Actually I know dozens of same-sex couples raising kids, and YES, I'd say they're all better parents than most hetero couples I know.
