A famous ecomonist said, " To buy a domestic auto will only hurt the economy because the quality of the product results in consumers spending extra money on repairs and not on products to sustain a healthy economy" Enough said! Its an IQ thang!

Toyota paid a nominal but undisclosed amount to settle this suit without a lengthy court case, but did not admit any guilt.
The incident apparently was caused by improperly fitted floor mats causing the accellerator to stick.

And they will have to pay for hundreds more deaths. I’m glad they have to pay it’s the right thing to do.

Toyota Motor Corp. has reached a settlement with family member of two people killed in a 2010 crash that involved the unintended acceleration of a Toyota Camry, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Nearly three years ago, Paul Van Alfen and his son's fiancé, Charlene Jones Lloyd, were traveling with other family members near Wendover, Utah, when their Toyota Camry accelerated uncontrollably. Unable to slow the car, Van Alfen hit a wall. Van Alfen and Lloyd died from their injuries, while Van Alfen’s wife and son were injured but survived.

The lawsuit was expected to go to trial in February and would have set a precedent for the hundreds of similar cases pending that also involve unintended acceleration accidents in Toyota vehicles.

Toyota spokeswoman Celeste Migliore said Toyota did reach an agreement with the families of Van Alfen and Lloyd, but the amount of the settlement has not been released.

The settlement comes one month after Toyota agreed to a more than $1 billion settlement involving claims of economic losses by Toyota owners when their cars were recalled due to the unintended acceleration issue.

The law profession created this fiasco.
Like taking candy from a child.
The tort litigation fraternity jumped on this one like flies on a cow flap.
Easy money.
