As I peer out at the sharply sloped hood of this dark blue Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet, I can see nothing but snow.

You can't "bip the throttle" on a PDK equipped Porsche as you are in gear in drive and will accelerate.
There is no "traction control" switch on a Porsche to switch off nor can ABS be defeated. Porsche has a button for it's Porsche Stabiity Management System(PSM) that can delay it's intervention but never turn PSM Off. PSM is more sophisticated than simple "Traction Control". The reason for pushing the PSM button for deep snow is to reduce the ASR (anti slip control) portion of the system where a spinning wheel gets brake activation, opposite of ABS actuation, so one doesn't lose traction and the wheels are allowed to spin if need be, to keep moving through deep snow. ABS will alway function and is the opposite of ASR or traction control.
