Over 20 years ago some S&L bad guys went to jail

I am curious about some items I once saw at Lamar S&L in Austin.
Before the big S&L collapse and scandal, in the lobby of Lamar Savings & Loan, there were a couple of very interesting items. There were two (I think it was 2) statues that might have been called "devil dogs" or something similar. I think they were Chinese.
And, there was a HUGE 'community' made out of ivory. At the time when I saw it someone told me that it took carvers over 20 years to carve out the houses, people, plants, animals ec in the village.
Now I wonder whatever happened to those items, especially the ivory village.
Anyone know about this?
