Central Health flops; Climate change; Kimbrough's worth
Just eight years ago, Travis County voters approved Travis County Health by a mere 5,000 votes on shaky promises of "better coordination in care and cost savings." So, Austin, do you think you have saved money? Approximately two-thirds of Central Health's budget goes to salaries, and about $500,000 is budgeted to provide abortion services.

I found the comment re salaries odd, so I did some quick checking; the published Central Health 2012 budget ( http://www.traviscountyhd.org/scripts/documen... ) shows all personnel expenses (salaries plus benefits) totalling to $1.8 million. Given that the total budget comes to $118 million, that "two-thirds" claim seems completely off-base.
