I'm sure the Chinese would have happily accepted thousands of Australian demonstrators waving the Australian flag in Beijing.

Aussies are most welcome to do that in my country. Australia is a good friend of my country. Please come!

Countries don’t have “friends” only allies and or trading relationships which are always as fluid and transitory as circumstances dictate.
