No Canada doesn't . They let their strategic reserves of nickel-copper-pgm go to a Brazilian government protected company [ VALE] and Xstrata instead of saying - INCO and Falconbridge are companies with strategic Canadian resources and therefore are not available for takeover . Then they let the Norilsk [ Russian protected company] get LionOre with their patented process for treating sulphide nickel ores . If you don't think Norilsk is protected - just look at the fact that there was no open bidding requested for the 25% stake of Norilsk . BHP or China would probably jumped at it .

Just hope the Aussie polis have the balls to stand up to China and tell them Country or Companies controlling strategic resources NOT FOR SALE . However we will gladly sell you product at a fair market price .
