They were in Indonesia's are of responsibility for sea rescue and the Indonesians asked the Aussies of they had a ship near and would they respond to the distress signal. International law says each country is responsible for those within its a international recuse area, so it's Indonesia who should take them.

They're in a port, so throw them over the side and let them swim as they've worn out their welcome and we certainly don't want people like this who are so disruptive in Aus. There's enough religious idiots here as it is.

Yes, you are right on the above. But some how they managed to hoodwink our customs to attend to it.The Indonesians would definitely prefer to let that refugee boat SINK than to send one of their own ships to rescue them. They have had enough problems from their existing brood of refugees.

So now the problem is the ship, not the rescue area. In order for them to remove the "refugees" from the ship without angering the international community + without breaking any laws, they would need permission from the kevin rude government! This is where the stalemate is.

The "refugees" were being taught to capitalize on the stupid human right laws/system. Drill a hole in the boat, set fire, hunger strikes are just some of the tricks being taught to them by the smugglers in order to get australia citizenship.

Paul Keating used to say that "Australia is a part of Asia". But the reality is it is because Australia is not part of Asia that these people want to come to Australia to live. Can't blame them for trying and you can't blame Australia for saying no.

a ship with about 70 people came to canada fro sri lanka also,they're being kept somewhere until it's proven that they're not terrorists or criminals.
