Of course teaching children respect for others would guarantee safety from criminal behavior....if ALL parents taught their children respect for others they wouldn't become criminals in the first place...the trouble is that isn't happening ie: gun owners or most of them teach their children to have utter contempt for their law enforcement and their government to the point of resistance even if it means death, so regardless of what you spout, these parents are failing in their duties to produce respectful law abiding citizens. If your children don't have respect for those who enforce the laws then they have no fear of the law therefore anything goes ie: if parents own guns that aren't registered in States that require it then those parents are not being law abiding citizens no matter how they claim to be otherwise, and they teach their children this disrespect for the rules by leading by their own corrupt example.
Do you believe this world is capable of supporting a utopia? You can teach children whatever you want and they’ll still take their own path. Teach them right from wrong so they know the difference. Some unfortunately will reject that teaching.

Most gun owners do not teach their children contempt for the law. Are you really that clueless?

Of course gun owners are as dumb as dog shit...look at what they spout here, breaking laws that the country has to register ALL their weapons, carrying concealed without a license, willing to oppose law enforcement if a law was passed to hand their guns in....Stupid is what I said, and the proof of stupid gun owners is very prevalent on this site.
Your ignorance shines brightly. Even a broken clock manages to be correct twice daily, you’re unable to manage that.

I would imagine that if people started using cars to purposely run around killing people, then that would be have to be a consideration..where you try and either make them safer, or stop a meter before they hit anything..and they can do that with vehicles, you can't do that with a gun though...if you put a protection device in a gun it wouldn't fire therefore would defeat its sole purpose...
People have started using cars to purposely run over people. I’ve provided you with just one example.

There are more than 80 million gun owners in the US. What are the odds someone would be either accidently or purposely shot by one of the man law abiding citizens? What are the odds of some law abiding citizen running your ass over with a car? Purposely or accidently.

There’s an estimated 270 million guns in the US compared to only 65 million registered vehicles. Cars are more dangerous than guns.

Oops I have a PS for you Fraud. if "my" rapist had been taught to respect others from birth (by those around him with a strong moral and civil code) he wouldn't have become someone that would inflict pain on another human being, would he? You are both a dumb and illogical tit.
Do you honestly believe that? Two children can be raised identically. One can become a successful law abiding adult and the other a criminal.

The premise of your position is based on all criminals weren’t raised properly. That’s flawed, very flawed.

What a base idiot you are...no wonder your country is in the shit it is, if you are what is the norm...
Yes, indeed you do have a right to be ignorant.

Oops a PS. the average gun deaths in America a day is 87 or 309 a week so do you know if they have reduced this number at all....there has been nothing to report the actual number has changed so what are you going on about!
“oops a PS”? Do you know the meaning of scatterbrain?

309 gun deaths weekly. How many are the result of suicide? How many are the result of justifiable homicide? Who are the remaining dead?

Oh you are on the Australian side of the book now....we behave respectfully to each other in Aus as do most of the Aussie gun owners(barring Orion, and the jury is still out that that guy maybe just another Aussie wanna be) so none of your nonsense please we don't put up with that here.
Really? Australia is ranked first in crime victims.

http://www.nationmaster.com/compare/Australia...

43% more crime victims. Higher rape, higher assault and higher suicide rate. Some of the other numbers need to be weighted for population difference.

Looks like you’re a bunch of criminals down under.

I do agree to a point that they overuse tasers but I also see cops in America not knowing what they have to deal with when they stop a car, it is often the case that they get shot themselves trying to uphold the law...that would make anyone jumpy and so the use of excessive force is to bring them down before they can do them harm....If no one used guns then I think the cops shouldn't need them either....but that isn't the way that it is and they take their lives in their hands everytime they go out....
You see cops in America? How often do you visit America?

In 2011 72 cops were shot and killed in the entire US. There are approximately 900,000 officers.

Does it matter? I own them legally, I use them legally. How many people have been killed over disagreement of religious beliefs? Religion is more dangerous than guns.

You keep bringing your deity into this debate. I’m very well armed for a religious debate. You won’t like it. Your deity is a fraud.

The biggest threat to freedom is the quest for security. People will volunteer to give their rights away if some sleezy politician can convince them that the sacrifice will buy safety. Just look at what happened after 9/11. Now getting on an airplane is like walking into a prison camp but we dream that it makes us safe so like sheep we line up to sacrifice our freedom. Let the left wingers keep all the false promises of security... I'll protect myself thank you.
