The one thing that Clive Palmer did was bring out the figures what the asylum seekers cost us, even if he got one word wrong.

The taxpayer does not pay more money to the asylum seekers than to age pensioners, it's just that one asylum seeker costs the taxpayer more money than one age pensioner.

It's ludicrous that 'they' put sanctions on Iran and when the situation gets to bad there that people leave, WE have to pay for them here. The best thing would be to get out of that otdated Refugee Convention, it's just gone too far and was not made for a world where some populations increase beyond rhyme or reason.

The smugglers who bring 'prohibited' goods like washing mashines across the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, take people out on their return journey. Then organised crime funds their trip to Indonesia and the boat here - and then they pay it all off to organised crime, funding the next criminal venture. Very bad karma. But at least Palmer has broken the taboo to talk about the cost, good first step.

All this may be correct but seeing he CAN'T win, so he is just wasting the tax payers money, himself?

It's probably tax deductible.

Well if you read about Palmer he got rich by basically ripping of the tax payer by selling their land to rich developers, land that had been set aside for affordable housing and urban expansion so in a way he is like you, he lives off tax payers money.
