Rednecks on the rampage. One thing they can't stand more than a darkies on boats is one of their own siding with the Labor party.

Who said that 'rednecks' were responsible for the threats? Not everybody who holds conservative views is a 'redneck' and 'rednecks' aren't the only people who threaten politicians, if you remember what happened soon after Pauline Hanson was voted in. And there was no ambiguity with Pauline's stance.
It's perfectly understandable if the people who voted for him are unhappy with him siding with Labor if those voters were hellbent on voting against Labor.

Only what seems to be the most likely possibility. More likely than a bunch of Confederate flag-waving, banjo-playing pick-up truck drivers anyway.

So does anyone who threatens a politician like that and expects that politician to change their tune as a result.

Oakeshott has a young family with 3 small children. You have to have some sympathy if he decides to change his tact.
