Depending on state and local laws, you may have to apply for a work permit if your under a certain age, and only work during certain times.

I dont think its right there taking people from other countries to take our jobs. There are homeless people on the street that need jobs and there australian they'll work for any salary. There are many people that get payments from centre link looking for jobs. Our Government should open his eyes and relise he is putting australians out of there jobs.
working in a food outlet myself (KFC) i would be happy for any one from australia to come and work, the only problem is they dont want to, australians all believe they are too good for it, i see ppl come and go only staying for 2 weeks after deciding the work load is too hard. i welcome anyone from any country that is willing to work and to stay. good on them and good luck to anyone looking to find a job you should be reccomended for your determination.

i worked at hungry jacks for 4 and half years it's so hard to find young resposible hard working juniors. most the kids we got were rude and very lazy. so maybe employing philippines wont be such a bad idea. keeping in mind good speaking english should be a must. they dont call it fast food for nothing.

This isn't an application forum for McDonalds. This is a forum where a news article was posted and commented on. If you want jobs at McDonalds you should contact the McDonalds Australian website. They don't check here for employees.

I'm sure Maca's don't come here to find workers. Maybe you should look else where, like a Aussie jobs site. Or migrating/ working visa's to Australia.
Good luck to you all in finding a job.

There are thousands of unemployed 'citizens' whom the Australian government gives hand outs to. If they will not occupy our so called 'labour shortages' we are hearing about so much, then either educate them or sterilise them.

With climate change, drought, structural water shortages, housing shortages and a burdened public transport systems in the big cities the last thing Australia needs is a bigger population.

I disagree. We just need a better gov, And many more tax payers.
If our gov spent money on the things they should, I think we could handle it.
One of the very important things we need to do is, we have to stop companies dumping goods into this country for far less than we can make them for.

As a Australian citizen I have directly worked in McDonalds with these socalled "guest workers" on the 457 visa and I have nothing but praise for the programme.

To make things clear the MINIMUM pay is AU$42,500 + 4 weeks annual leave + sick leave. I would say wages are NOT undercutting others in the industry, if anything they would be more.

From my experience the people are focussed, experienced, hard working and driven to do a good job. Which leads to a better overall service for consumers and makes work a much more pleasant experience. Unfortunately it's a job many Australians look at as below them.

Learn the facts and give credit to these people where credit is due.
