The Australian government interfered too much with cattle slaughter houses in Indonesia and than the Australian government stop sending cattle to Indonesia because the Australian government disagreed with how the Indonesian slaughter the cattle.

The Australian news gave Indonesian official vary bad names, the Australian should have discussed the problems with Indonesian official in private; so the Australian government did not embarrass Indonesian officials; but instead of friendly discussion; the Australian had to embarrassed Indonesian in mass media

The population of Indonesia is growing vary fast; and there are not enough cattle to be slaughter in Indonesian. The Indonesian government have decided not to depend 100% on Australian cattle in order to keep the cattle supply sufficient in Indonesia

The Indonesian government will now buy cattle from India, Vietnam, USA etc and reduced buying cattle from the Australian. I got this secret information from official in charge in Indonesia

Since 1987 Australian officials have been trying to persuade Indonesia to use less cruel and brutal methods to slaughter cattle we send to Indonesia. For over 20 years Indonesia ignored our appeals and made no effort to be less barbaric in the long drawn out suffering your Abbatoirs used to torture cattle before killing them. No respect for the animals at all. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

And now you have the barefaced cheek to try to lecture Australia?? Indonesia had over 20 years to lift its standards and it did not. That's why Australia suspended export to get you people to take notice for a change and stop the unnecessary cruelty.

So don't come on here and try to shift blame!!

Something else for you to think about ... it is well documented by now that those who cruelly torture animals easily graduate to doing the same to people. Now go look for your high moral ground somewhere else. There's none for you here.

Might be a good niche market for China - growing cattle for Indonesia. Lots of land in China for grazing

What proves Abbott to be nothing but a lazy liar is that Indonesia announced their intention to cut cattle imports from Australia BEFORE the ban on live exports.
http://www.thecattlesite.com/news/30755/indon...

Indonesia announced long ago that it aimed to be 90% self sufficient by 2014 and would be phasing out imports. What do the Cattle producers do? Stick their fingers in ears and hum so they can't hear it. What do the Liberals do? Lie. What does the media do? Lets them lie.

Why did the Australian only trying to persuade Indonesia?

Why did not the Australian persuade all third world country which make the same mistakes as Indonesian butcher did?

In fact, Indonesia still did not have enough cattle to supply local demand; but the Indonesian government decided to reduce buying cattle from Australian.

All Indonesian people believe than Indonesian government should stop buying any cattle from Australian

if there were more Indonesian people keep pushing their demand to Indonesian government that Indonesia should completely stop buying any cattle from Australia; the Australian farmer will the one who suffer the most

I suggest Australian stop interfering with Indonesia problem; because you will kill you own farmer. Keep on friendly discussion without embarrassing Indonesia government; talk about Indonesia mistakes behind the door without telling the whole world about the mistakes

We are Indonesian, we're not spreading hate here; we are are telling the truth that Indonesia do not absolutely need Australian cattle.

Why do not the Australian stop 100% selling cattle to Indonesia? if the Australian believed that Indonesia is not treating the cattle correctly or animal cruelty is happening in Indonesia.

Indonesian do not need Australian cattle; because Indonesia can buy cattle from India, Pakistan, Vietnam, China, USA etc

Indonesia is the biggest market for Australian cattle. The sheep farmer in Australian had lost their business because the price of wool went down.

Australian cattle farmers will also loss their market if Indonesian government stop buying cattle from Australian farmers;

this mean that Australian need Indonesia more and Indonesian need Australian least for doing a good business; so stop interfering with Indonesian problems or sell your cattle to other country

Proof was required. Suspicion is not enough.

Don't blame Australians for the ugly truth coming out. Our government was turning a blind eye to Indonesia's cruelty. It was an Animal Rights organization that blew the whistle. They took videos and broadcast them here on public media. Once they did that there was a groundswell of public disgust that forced our government to do something about it. Their hand was forced and they interrupted exports.

A I said to you before, discussions had been going on behind closed doors since 1987, and what good had that done? None!! Indonesia was quite happy to keep torturing cattle horribly, as long as they could keep it hidden from the civilized world.

Is that what you are saying should have continued ... with your "behind closed doors" talk?

So its alright if Indonesia goes on causing terrible suffering to cattle, but you would prefer to be sneaky about it behind closed doors so no one can rescue the cattle from Indonesia's cruelty.

It's quite clear that you do not care about that cruelty ... you only care about it being exposed. Too bad if Indonesia is embarrassed ... they should be!

As for our farmers, they are already forming plans to do their own slaughtering at their own properties. Let's see how that changes the market.

Indians can't export their cows. Indians need something to have sex with as well as something that supplements their national food production
