Why would anyone swim in known croc infested water? Sounds kind of dumb to me.

Why on earth would you be a passenger on a plane that was going to be flown into the World Trades Centre? Sounds kind of dumb to me.

She was twelve.

Slandering her is not helpful.

I pray it was quick.

She was a kid. It was hot. Nobody had a pool in their backyard.

Perhaps crocodiles can be removed from the endangered species list in the area now.

Your pretty stupid to claim that the people on those planes knew what danger they were about to face. Jumping into croc infested waters by a 12 yo is dumb. She should have been made aware of the risk. Where were he attentive parents, down under? But what do you expect from people who would walk through a moat filled with crocs while carrying their newborn, now that's dumb. Steve Irwin was an idiot and caused his own reckless death, see the similarities?

Why would you elect George W Bush to 2 terms as President of the United States? Sounds kind of dumb to me!

Why would you let Bernie Madoff look after your investments? Sounds kind of dumb to me!

Why would you have 8 babies by IVF when you already have 6 and have no means of supporting them? Sounds kind of dumb to me!

Why would you leave guns lying around unsecured when you have children who are unstable and could go on a shooting rampage at any given moment? Sounds kind of dumb to me!

Hey "hindsight", you should be more grateful to the country that prevented australia from becoming a colony of the "great japanese empire" in 1942! If our blood doesn't spill in Guadalcanal in 1942, your behind is fried, mate!

Good. Now stop coming up with stupid analogies and debate the issues at hand and we'll get along famously.
Now, what is so intelligent about a 12 y/o, either by herself or perhaps with her parents permission, going for a swim in known, croc infested waters?

HEY MANIACS!!!

For crying out loud! This was a CHILD. Was it stupid - yeah, obviously. Show me ONE child who never made a stupid mistake at that age? It's absurd to say her parents are irresponsible. EVERY kid in the world has goofed off when his/her parents aren't around.

Dear God, I just pray it was quick. Poor girl.

Relax, everyone! Australia and the United States were Allies since World War 2, and worked together to defeat Japan. The United States contributed more military forces, because of our larger size and resources, but Australians did more than their share (in fact, most of the Royal Australian Navy's major warships were sunk between Nov., 1941 and August, 1942 fighting against the Axis - the heavy cruiser Canberra, and the light cruisers Sydney and Perth). The coastwatchers also played a vital role in the Solomons Islands campaign. Both nations have remained close since then, and are still allies. Australia has backed us up in the War on Terror, and Americans and Australians will always be good friends (except perhaps on this blog!). So let's lighten up, already!
