Swan Says Australiaa s Flood Disaster Levy a Very, Very Modesta
Australian Treasurer Wayne Swan defended the government's proposed A$1.8 billion levy to help rebuild flood-ravaged Queensland, saying the tax is "very, very modest." Six out of 10 Australians "will pay less than $1 per week," Swan told reporters at a flood recovery center in Queensland today.

why is this labour government robing the rich once again if there is to be a tax for disaster rebuilding it should be on all who are currently working. Lets call it wehat it is another tax and be fair with the way its administered. As for it being a one off twelve moth thing yeah I will beleive it when I see it!

Fully agree. This government has sort of a communist policy like if you earn more, we will punish you more. They don't encourage people to work in this country...Just bla-bla-bla, you have to work and then we will rob you
