When I caught Blight the other night apologizing on TV for not spending I thought exactly the same thing, about gaining interest on a deposit. They have done it before if I remember rightly.
Yeah, it's a neat scam eh. Blight said that ALL of the 'donated' money would be going to the flood victims - she um *forgot* to mention 'when' and also that they wouldn't be getting the 'interest' from that money as well.

One bloke from Tully said 2 nights ago that he received $400 of the $2,500 promised him and his family, and has had to close his business, and is living in a damaged house. He's not getting any other assistance as yet and doesn't even have any money to buy food let alone anything else. And that's only 'one' story.

I tried to advise people to NOT donate to the Gov fund (I got abused for that) but to give instead to local charities or Lions or Rotary - that's where the 'real' help is coming from and the quickest too.

Every comment you read it is Brisbane, Brisbane, and more Brisbane, what about the rest of Queenslans? I would like every Pollie to drive from Bris. to Cairns on the pot holed Bruce Highway, will they no, they fly everywhere. Just wait till the idiots pass the law that triple trailers can use it. That will at least double the head ons.
We should be pulling 6 trailers like in the mining
Either that or build a fast above ground monorail passenger and freight service that stops all towns

Donating to the local charities is the way to go. Yeah I remember that, funny how some people can't see it from the other prospective.

If Anna Bligh Can't get her own bureaucracy pulling together then she may as well resign and pass the reins

I reckon we should be able to get cheaper fuel by tendering for it.
Put up the yearly figures for each town for tender of supply of fuels.
The oil company then knows the approx earning potential so they can stabize their debt

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Cancer

Love could catch you by surprise today. You might be strongly attracted to someone who isn't your usual type at all but who makes your knees go weak all the same, or you could get caught up in an illicit relationship that's exciting because it has to be kept a secret. If you're already involved with someone they'll need plenty of freedom and won't appreciate feeling emotionally tied down. You need to let them off the leash for a short while!
