Indeed. The government should have had the heart to pay without question.

If I read it correctly, he entered Australia illegally. He's lucky they didn't lock him up.

yes, sad the girl died, but they came here illegally, received medical treatment at our expense, he had to be quarantined because of TB and our government helped him to fly her body back to PNG.
Had he cremated her, it would have been a lot easier and cheaper for everyone.

No my point is our government isn't elected to have a "heart". It operates on commercial imperatives.

I'm surprised Barnaby Joyce hasn't already taken out his calculator to tell the electorate how much money was spent to the nearest 1c.

Suspect if he took the journey to Port Moresby whether the hospital there would have had the necessary infrastructure to deal with her problem anyway. My guess is he took his chances with what he thought was the best chance to save her life.

Admire his determination, Do not admire people who question his motives. I have a sneaky suspicion if his daughter was a blonde haired blue eyed doll that the tears of sadness and a memorial set up for her. Because she is a PNG native people couldn't give a toss.

He did the right thing in bringing her to Aus, he wasn't trying to seek refuge here just get his daughter treated and he does wan to go home. Most others would've sat by and waited for someone else to do something. Quarantining him was the right thing to do as it has helped to not only satyop TB from spreading here but also if he was infected, stopping it spreading in his home area.

If people didn't give a toss, they wouldn't have raised over $20000 to get him and her flown back home. The senior bureaucrat behind all this is probably a god nutter like you and a complete racist piece of shit, like you.

Yes I'm aware of the TB/quarantine business, just talking about emotional response via public oponion re: blonde thing Vs Fuzzy wuzzy.

You believe and support the bizarre primitive god cult, so what else can you expect to be associated with other than what you support and uphold. An idiot is one who believes in fairy tales, a condition you fit eminently.

So what was the public response? Didnt the mean racist aussie public donate $20,000 to get him home?

I would imagine the general thought was 'the idiot govt spends millions catering to ungrateful economic free loaders but cant get this poor grieving dad back to PNG?'

That was the opinion in my house.
