The Libs seem to be inundated with yobbos these days, mind you Penny Wong is a nauseating character. She reminds me of Lee Lin Chin on SBS. God that voice!

Bushby's outburst was 'unparliamentary'. But expecting decorum from Australia's politicians in the House is a gamble anyway. Both sides do indulge in bad conduct much of the time.

Plenty has been said about the 'meow' and what followed, but whatever preceded it doesn't really excuse it either:

That said, Penny Wong doesn't exactly attract a lot of goodwill and has a track record of confrontations like this. Even at her most benign it doesn't take much to expose the professional man-hater within.

It was a dumb impulse, and Bushby certainly picked on the wrong Wong.

The bottom line as I see it is: how much faith should we have in MPs prone to dumb impulses while on the job?

very aptly put, and the fact that it will detract "for a split second" from the this Governments missuse of the "tax purse" over the carbon tax adds and their lack of information wouldn't exactly hurt either......

I think your speculation is supported by the coverage given to the 'meow', to almost total exclusion of coverage given to business before the Senate Committee that day.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
