I like it here because it does not have too much multistorey apartment buildings or ants nests as I call them. They have higher carbon footprints and need a higher police density, which costs more. I can get what I need and where I live, it's quite peaceful.

What I dislike is this childish ambition to keep up with the Jones'= big cities around the world, when the population number does not justify that.

We did not need a revamped expensive stadium in the City. The talk to add vibrancy to the City has been like a broken record in the last 20 years. People just don't want to live there, it's too noisy and the air pollution gives you migraines. Maybe if they had stricter noise and fumes control for bikes, cars, and trucks it would be more attractive, but at the moment you go to City only when you must and then leave as quickly as possible.

I suppose some people in SA like the most lax marijuana laws in the country.

The possession of (non-hydro and non-synthetic) marijuana up to 100 grams, 20 grams of hash or 1 non-hydro marijuana plant is decriminalised (not legalised) and is treated as a civil offence if the $50 to $150 fine is paid off within 60 days.

He was probably in Wudinna for those two weeks, so Hobart feels exciting.
I came here by kind of accident and now I like it here because it does not attract those who upset the balance - or those who do get here, don't stay long.
Just read about armed guards at Melbourne train station - fabulous, isn't it. Give me Adelaide any time, although I could have done without the costly Oval upgrade.

South Africa is a beautiful country, I visited years ago. But the idea that where you were born is your home, can be a dangerous one. If my spouse applied that, there'd be a war with Poland because they are not giving up the land which Stalin allocated to them. It had been Germany but all Germans were kicked out, spending 2 years in the refugee snake before reaching a place that was still Germany and had to take them in. Home is where they treat you with respect and where you have a bit of space around you to feel free, and where you have enough to eat without resorting to stealing.

So much population growth to close the gap to the neighbours? Hopefully not in my lifetime. I am for quality over quantity.
