No, I am totally Atticus for the haul. It is because I am one of those lawyers who speaks out for justice and is saddened by lynching. My manner is different than that of my namesake, but the message is his message.

Perhaps your manner is soooooooooooo different as to do the character a disservice? He was effective and you are not. Something to consider......

He wasn't effective at all. That was a major point in the novel.

Besides that, if had had the internet, then he would have exploited it the exact same way I do. I am pretty sure about that.

No, Mr. Finch. Atticus Finch within the novel wasn't effective. He as a CHARACTER is extremely effective. I wonder how many people have read that book and been able to see prejudices more clearly....

same with people who read my comments at the Atlanta Topix board. it is just not the ones you see quibbling with my truths. these are the other characters I play off of. Tory One is especially good because she or he is so extreme.

Well let me ask you this, let us assume your illustrius career ends with you becoming a Judge. you watch the defence and prosecution try to absolute best of thier ability to give an alleged murderer a fair trial, but it was proven beyond resonable doubt that this man raped a teenage girl with a sawnoff shot gun and ended her life by pulling the trigger before removing said gun.

tell me Atticus what would you reccomend as sentence

Depends on what all the facts were. I am not a huge fan of the death penalty, but I am not against it either. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird the prosecution proved that Mayella was raped beyond reasonable doubt. What sentence would you have given Tom Robinson?

No, I am. I am changing the face of georgia, one Georgian at a time. With patience and the judicious use of words. The old fashioned way. The Sage understands this and is quite angered by it. But birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim and Atticus needs to drop the hard science on Georgia's collective dome.

it depends on what all the facts were?? what more facts do you want, she was kidnapped, raped with a shotgun, killed by its discharge while it was still in her ..........

If I was the judge re Mayella Ewell case I have no option but to follow sentencing protocol, he would be sent to death row by me.

You must also remember at that time a white girl and a black man together even at a dance was verbotten never mind doing the grown-up.

Times have changed but attitudes stay much the same, recently in Paris I passed a Club that had in bold print "No Blacks" and that is in PC Paradise of the EU.

Mr. Finch....*sigh*.....Sometimes there is a baby crying in the back of the church during services. While most people will look to see what's happening, few of them will begin to pitch a tantrum. Do you follow?
