Was there like two empty pizza boxes, an empty milk carton, a tossed out old cheese and a half eaten McDonalds burger in her crib or somet'n?

This does not sound right to me! I have been around raccoons and other animals because I live at the edge of the woods and everyone that I have run across would rather run away than deal with a person even when eating, the only times I have seen one get mad is when they are cornered and can not get away or when you pick them up when they do not want to be handled.

I believe there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye here, to mess with a baby for no reason and attack the baby also is not the raccoons way of doing things.

No doubt and was her room like in a tent outside, too?

Funny how 'the dog with live cockroaches in it's fur' seemed to get more concern than this poor baby. Tuvok and Avastye70 excepted.
Hope this little girl survives this and makes
a full recovery, she is fighting for her life.

Makes me wonder if the one they shot didn't have rabies.

I agree. I saw that other story. The remarkable part was not the roaches, but having fur so matted that it couldn't open its eyes or eat properly.

I've known raccoons kept as (semi) pets and they can be aggressive for no reason.

If these weren't pets and they were running around in daylight hours then they were probably rabid.

At the same time it's entirely possible that there is some other explanation for the baby's injuries. Munchausen by Proxy or garden variety child abuse or whatever...because a household keeping raccoons as pets or one that is letting two of them into the bedroom somehow has some other stuff going on by definition.

It is a shame that this precious child has to live in an environment like this. Her parents need to be sterilized and never be able to produce a child again. It would be nice to put honey on them, tie them to a tree and turn the bees, ants and bears loose on them.

It seems that the raccoons were being kept as pets. They do not make good pets, especially once they become sexually mature.

In my neighborhood, over the past 2 months, I have seen 3 sick raccoons. Out during the day, staggering, laying down in the middle of the street & coming up right to my front door. I don't know what's wrong with them, but I do make sure my animals are kept safe. I no longer let them out at nite alone. I stay with them, carrying a flashlight. Any hint of trouble, they're back in the house.

Done think that teacher was from Cajun land and was a Koon now. Story says she was from Georgia.

That sounds like the raccoons have rabies.......
