I'm not sold on the whole "hate crimes" legislation that keeps getting amended. No one should be singled out and attacked because of race, etc. but rather than pass needless legislation and appeasing specific groups with this nonsense, shouldn't we just enforce the laws and sentencing guidelines that are already in place. I don't really understand the perpetrator of an assault against a gay or black person getting a "stiffer" sentence than if he assaulted a hetero white guy.
I agree. Why should certain groups get preferal treatment? Just enforce the laws we have.

That is fine when there is the least bit of proof that is was something was done against someone for those reasons. But these days, if a white man says "Hi" to a black man, that's racial.

Well how would someone prove this? just by calling them a name before they assault them? Seems like there's a huge gray area here and again, I think it's just "feel good" legislation to buy votes. Why don't we just say that anytime someone of any color, sexual orientation etc. etc. is assaulted that it's a "hate" crime?
It really hasn't taken much imagination to determine hate crimes.

The stupid perpetrators spray paint "n****r" or "f****t" on the mutilated corpses after dragging them for miles down dirt roads behind their rusty pickup trucks; tossing fingerprint DNA encrusted slobbered-up beer cans out the window as they drive along. They don't even bother to steal the corpses' money.

Duh!

Its no wonder. You're supposed to say "wuzzup bro"

Incidentally, the new hate crimes law was worded to protect whiteys too; it works both ways after 6:O5 PM today.

Still stuck back 50 years? Why am I not surprised? The fact time has drastically changed and millions of people refuse to see it for what it is, that is today's problem.

You darn right that is racist! They put the pictures of 4 black men on there! Just ask those men, their family, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. That is racial! Rather or not it IS factual. This IS 2009.

No. Neither the investigators nor the judicial system could find any evidence of this being a hate crime.

I would bet large sums of money that if it were a black couple getting murdered & raped by 4 white guys, they would call it a "hate" crime.

Just as in the Christian-Newsome crime, this crime was motivated by robbery and paraphilic fulfillment gone wild.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_paraphil...

Neither the prosecutors nor the judicial process found any evidence of hatred motivation for the crimes. They most certainly looked for hate crime evidence because it would increase the felony counts against the perpetrators, but there was none.

If you don't know what a hate crime is, please find out before you accidently unknowingly commit one. Ignorance is no excuse for violating the law; especially a law that can land you in federal prison for the rest of your life or sentence you to the death penalty.

The federal hate crimes law is 40 years old and was recently amended to include gays and disabled people
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_crime_laws_...

Of all the hate crimes covered in the law, only victims of gender-motivated hate crimes can "seek compensatory and punitive damages as well as injunctive and declaratory relief".

Georgia doesn't include gays and disabled people in state hate crime law, so federal law prevails.

A person who robs a convenience store doesn't hate the clerk; he just wants the money. Robbery is a crime of opportunity and disrespect (and sometimes murder), but not hate.

"A hate crime occurs when the perpetrator of the crime intentionally selects the victim"

So lets see, there are two men walking down a dark street at night, one black, one white, and the would be robber picks the white man because in his low IQ mind, he thinks the white man probably has more money than the black man.

He winds up shooting and killing him after the robbery.

Hate crime?

You damned right it is!

A "Crip" kills a "Blood", and while killing him, he calls him a "N", hate crime?

You damned right it is!

But the liberal always attempts to find an excuse for the criminal if he's black.

Is it a hate crime when black's are kidnapping White's to take their money out of ATM"s.
Why isn't this a hate crime or maybe they figured out that black's don't have money in the bank.

Maybe this is white profiling.Black profiling is off limits I would imagine.
What if a black kills another black as they do on a daily basis what is this called?Downsizeing?

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Pisces

Although you're busy putting the finishing touches to your Christmas preparations, you'll also have to pay attention to someone who's feeling neglected or unloved. Luckily, it won't take much to make this person feel better, so a big hug or a little consideration might do the trick. You should also bear in mind that they may be feeling nostalgic or sad about the past.
