That was her cousin's husband. Kevin is not a relative of Yolanda. And yes he has been arrested for the murder. But let's not close the book yet.

She hasn't been charged yet, but she will. She did not pull the trigger, but she set it all up. Apparently all you see is the money because everytime you post that is all you mention. Someone's life was taken and it is sick for you to keep mentioning money. No it is not over that's all and that's it she wishes that was true, but there are alot of people fighting for Byron's name and memory as others try slander his reputation. Kevin Savage is a murderer that is why he is in jail waiting on Yolanda to join him. Byron was 5'9 in height but 12 ft. tall in integity. You obviously did not know the situation very well. Although we can not discuss to many details about the case online, I gurantee this is not over. See you in court!!

Why don't you do a little research as to why he moved out 2 months ago and not what you were "told"?? Seems to be a little more to the story than you obviously know, also. And on whose scale was Byron only 5'9"? I've tried not to post on this trash, but to post opinions as facts in order to hurt another person is uncalled for. Just as the fact that a life was taken. If you are so familiar with the family, why don't you know the child's age or the fact that he stayed with his grandfather on weekends? She did not just happen to send him that weekend. How do you know she hadn't been to her family? YOU may also be in for some surprises. It would be best for all parties if the slander-fest would stop here because it is not a good thing. Be mindful that to air laundry in a public forum may just result in items posted in reply that you may find hurtful to the very party whose name you are trying to protect. What kind of person attempts to be judge and jury on a public blog? Class at its finest!!
Aren't you doing the same thing discusing the case not kowing the facts. I am going to discuss this because there have been so many lies told about him and his character and I refuse not to speak up for someone that cannot speak for themselves. Yolanda made sure of that. Just because his truck was not inside the gate does not mean he did not open the garage door and go in. Simple question why not call the police earlier that night before someone was killed not after? If she was so afraid why call your "cousin" with a loaded gun but never the police. if the cousin was a ex cop he could not figure out how to handle an unarmed man 5'9 without killing him? What happened to the alarm it was pretty elaborate I believe. Look I don't want their son to raised without parents but I did not make decision Yolanda did when she had Byron Murdered. I know you are trying to defend her but you can see for yourself all the holes in the story if you just stop letting her manipulate the truth. Kevin Savage had no motive but who will gain from this?
Wait till all the details come out you will change your position. gurantee.

It also amazes me that people are speaking on having house guests the same night of the incident. How would you possibly know that this is the first time she had asked/had someone over? Also, if I recall correctly, it was a Sunday morning so "normal" business persons would not be up and about at that particular time. I don't profess to know anything about either of the persons involved, but if logistics are into play here it would be obvious to the poster that 6:30 on a SUNDAY morning is not "business" related. What in that great city is open for business at that time on Sunday besides breakfast eateries? Seems some people are more upset about what will become of their hand-outs than what has become of that family!
Unfortunately, Bryon worked all the time and that included Sundays when he could have been worshipping at church. He began his work day very early Monday through Sunday and worked as late as he could. He loved the calling that God had placed on his life (Building). That was his normal schedule.

you are obviously a relative of Byron, so I'm going to respect that. But it's also not faie for you to state as a fact that Yolanda had Byron killed. They had to arrest Kevin, he shot and kiiled Byron. As you said, he had no motive. That sounds at best like involutary manslaughter. it wasn't murder in the 1st degree. I hope you heel, because you seem too angry to be reasonable. I dont think, nor does the police believe she's guilty of a set up. Otherwise they would have arrested her also. Lastly be patient, because this case is more then 2 years from a court room. Fulton County hasn't tried Brian Nichols who killed a Judge, so they're not going to put this case in front of any other case. It's going to be a long time before this is resolved. A long time.

I think you ALL need to wait for the details (FACTS) to come out.

I don't know anyone involved, but from reading the posts... Byron's family and friends make him out to be a saint. I don't believe anyone is a saint. Further, they make the wife out to be some horrible, cruel beast. Maybe if the posts sounded a little more honest, there wouldn't be so many outsiders judging.

Finally, these 2 people were in the middle of a divorce. Divorce does funny things to couples. They don't act like themselves. They are extremely stressed and may do and say things they wouldn't normally.

So, was he a saint and she a ruthless b-itch? The answer is probably no to both.

But, did she murder (or conspire to) him... maybe? Was it self-defense... maybe?

We just don't know.

I just want to say that there is more than meets the eye in any case. Somebody should find out the background on this cousin first of all.... that may be fishy... also FYI, Byron and Yolanda were divorcing and I am sure they probably also had some issues with the company as well. Number 3 if your husband was brutally murdered would you cry or at least look distraught at his wake, maybe even his funeral? I mean they were in the process of a divorce but, at least shed a tear. Oh another FYI, the police have arrested her "cousin" for murder. AS I SAID MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.
I agree!

Come on, I know Byrons family is hurting, however to make an inference that this was't conincidental is wrong. This wasn't a set up. This is strickly a tragedy. Know one in their right mind believe that Yolanda wanted to kill Byron. And all of you who are making Byron a saint, obviously didnt know him very well. Yes, he was a GREAT BUILDER, but he was a cheating husband and vulgar mouth man. TRAGEDY PERDIOD. Now she's get the insurance and raise thir son. Hopfully she wont give any of you vultures a dime.
Have you ever wondered why their house was listed as a foreclosure around the same time he was murdered? I am willing to bet there is a large life insurance policy at the end! I am also speculating that we'll be hearing about the true financial state of this family real soon! In the meantime, we should be in constant prayer for Bryon's family, friends, and especially his 7 year old son.

this to me sounds like the Sidney Dorsey's case Sidney never pulled the trigger but his manipulation(convincing lies)landed him in the slammer wonder if thats what happened here its was not Kevin's place to take matters into his own hands hell what did he think was going to be a good reason for shooting an unarmed man entering his own house regardless of the hour oh all Kevin's information had to come from the wife not so much a setup as it is manipulation hmmmmmm.....

Ask for a HUD listing or look up public records in Atlanta. I also know someone who was looked at the house as a preforeclosure only a few weeks back. when no one bought the house as a preforeclosure,I think it was listed as a foreclosure the week he was murdered or around that time.

There are soo many questions:

Why did the wife call her guest and not the police?

When she called the guest, why didn't they tell her to call the police or even better, why didn't they call the police?

If she was afraid, why not change the locks, the alarm code, and the garage code?

How is a man, who is 405 pounds and over 6ft threatned by a man half his size?

If the shooter has or had a law enforcement background, why did he take the law into his own hands?

The shooter's response reflects the correct answer, but what is the truth?

Why did the husband go to the home?

How did the wife know he was coming this particular weekend?

When the husband entered the home, why wasn't the police called?

How many guest were in the home?

Why didn't anyone call the police prior to the shooting?

If the shooter felt threatned, I would assume there was conversation which would alert the guest, who could have called the police?

Why are there conflicting stories about a restraining order?

If the husband was coming in and out of the home, why would the wife continue to stay at the home?

Who had custody of the son? Was it joint?

The questions could go on and on.

It sounds like many are watching to see how this case unfolds.

My prayers are with all parties involved.

No, Byron was not a saint. Yolanda had issues as well as Byron. We all have issues. But you would have had to have known Byron to understand why people speak so highly of him. There was a side of him that would do anything in the world for you. And there was another side of him that if you crossed him, he would not have anything to do with you; he would just wipe his hands of you and would not have anything to do with you at all. I'm certain there are quite a few people who can attest to just that. What really amazed me about Byron, was how to he guided, helped, directed and taught people along the way. He touched the lives of people in so many ways, and people remember such things. People listened to him because he did more than just talk. You were able to see the fruit of his labor.

BS CHARGE

AOL

#123 Jan 2, 2008
WHAT IS FELONY MURDER.. A BS CHARGE

LAW DEFINITION OF FELONY MURDER: MOST STATES HAVE OUT-LAWED THIS AS A LEGAL CHARGE.
The felony murder rule does not take into consideration the defendant's motivation during the crime, thus relieving the prosecution of its burden of proving intent to kill, which is a necessary element in all other murder cases. Because intent can mean the difference between cold-blooded killing and accidental death, felony murder bears little resemblance to the offense of murder except in name. First-degree murder is often an arbitrary assignment.

A. Intent to commit felony does not equal intent to kill. The intention of committing a felony, by itself, should not be sufficient to establish a charge of murder.

B. The felony murder rule erodes the relationship between criminal liability and moral culpability. It equally punishes all homicides, which take place during the commission, or attempted commission, of the proscribed felonies, whether intentional, unintentional, or accidental
While the felony murder rule survives in California and other states, several states have repealed it. Other states have made numerous modifications and restrictions, and some states never incorporated the felony murder rule at all. The simple fact that state legislatures throughout the United States have repealed or amended the law reflects a wide dissatisfaction with the basic harshness and injustice of the doctrine and calls into question its continued existence

Let me first say that I have known Kevin longer than anyone who dares post on this forum! He is by far one of the kindest people I have ever known. Always and I mean ALWAYS willing to aid someone who is in need be it a complete stranger or otherwise! I know because I have seen it with my very own eyes. It is unfortunate that someone lost a life here and I pray for all of his family during this time.

Lets ask the real tough questions shall we? Why was Mr. Washington removed from the home in the first place? Was it because he abused his spouse? Was there a restraining order against him? If so why on earth would he come to the home? Why in God's name come to the home at that hour? If you can answer these questions and they make sense in your mind then someone please tell the rest of us so that we may be enlightened.

Kevin is no murderer that much I am certain of! He had to be in complete fear of his life and the life of his wife to act with deadly force. 25 years I have known this man, so I think that qualifies as knowing him...

What difference does it matter if the family is black, white, hispanic, asian, etc. A GOOD MAN, FATHER, SON, BROTHER & HUSBAND, has been taken from this life all for what? Killed in the house he built for his wife and son. Race is not an issue! Also, he was not gone from this house for six months. He was in and out of that house everyday!
