Sure, blame the schools and the teachers, but we can't undo sorry parenting. It starts at home people! When parents teach their kids responsibility and respect, and live their lives that way, the kids usually don't go shoot up a party or join a gang.
I totally agree!

Teachers are not teachers to whom should parent the children. Parents are responsible for there own Children.

Back when I attended High School in Stockbridge.....if any one of us was disrespectful to a teacher or did something that called for punishment by a paddle.....we all knew...once we got home....another Paddle or hard punishment would be enforced.

Maybe it was abuse? But I am here to tell you....I wouldn't change a thing called "Abuse" now...for what was called...."Punishment then"

If kids want to call DFACS....hand them the phone....let them call DFACS....

We are so lax.....this world....will be ruled by those thugs....when we are in retirement? Think about it??

Skeery ain't it!

You are so right! Everyone blames the school systems for not teaching children. RAising children does start at the home, then there is the church, the community and the then the school. Even when parents raise their children right, soem tend to stray away due to influence of others, drugs, power and most of all money. It is no longer a racial issue becaus ethe news reflects this daily think about Paris Hilton- she's not broke or from Black or from Henry COunty. We all just need to take an active part in our respective ommunities and help to keep these parents uplifted during their grief. Talking about it is not a solution. Many children now scare the parents and the community. Remember they wanted God out of schools ann countless of number of things that kept us to gether. My heartfelt sysmpathy goes out to each of the families during their time of loss. To those parents that were chaperoning, look to the hill and know that you were only trying to celebrate the youth and their accomplishments and it is not your fault. To everything there is aa season and in the midst of tradgey their is going to be a reelation on some sort to lead some people to God and their individual responsibilities. Be Blessed

Okay let me tell you something. I go to Stockbridge High, I new both girls VERY well. I would really appreciate it if you didn't say "teens these days" because we're not all the same. we don't all carry around weapons that can harm other people. We don't all go off shooting/stabbing people at a graduation parties. And it's not the kids fault that caused the shooting it's the parents, so blame them. They're in control of what their child does, they brought them up, they taught them everything they need to know. So don't blame it on us.And, gangs have been around for ever now it's not just "these days." Aren't you a little old anyways? You probably can't even remember the basic morals you were taught.
Thank you.

I attended Dutchtown High School and did not know either of the two young teens, but my prayers and tears go out to the families of those innocent girls. Its pathetic that we cant attend parties without these thugs trying to be hard by killing and shooting one another. I blame the parents for the actions of these gang-banging thugs. The parents who try to protect their guilty children by holding their silence and refusing to come forth with information should rot in jail just as their children. To all of those who are involved in the shooting that occured at the clubhouse just know that WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND AND IF U LIVE BY THE SWORD, YOU DIE BY THE SWORD.
Thank you...

Molly Brooke Cohran is also my niece. I wanted to get it out here on the internet that our family as well as Molly's friends have come up with a little over 7000.00 for a reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Our family will NEVER give up on finding the heartless person who did this. Our hearts have forever been broken.

I'm also a teacher in the county, who is tired of being expected to parent kids in addition to teaching them. Parents need to wake up and pay attention to what's hapening with their children.

I was searching on My Space today to see what I could learn about gangs in Henry County (if you want the unfiltered truth from the kids - go to My Space and search by High School). There were TWO gangs involved in the Stockbridge shooting. One of the gang members had pictures of the girls that were killed on his My Space page with RIP and their names. There were several other RIPs over pictures of his friends - which by the way his gang's (GMA) photograph was on the page, as well as where he goes to school (Stockbridge High). I found this all out in about 10 minutes using DIAL UP! If I can find this in 10 minutes - the police and parents ought to be able to figure out what's going on.

okay this is probably the most pathetic thing ii have ever seen .
two girls were killed and all u people can do is get on here and type abunch of bull crap .it 's pretty sad that ur worried about the parents not having control when 2 girls were killed for something they didnt do .ii lost 2 of my best friends and when ii get on here reading this it makes it worse because everyone is so pathetic worrying about kids giving no respect for adults.this has nothing to do with respect of ur elders .god u people need to get a life and quite writing negative things .it makes it worse on a person when people who dont even know these kids are writing negative things about people who were killed .god grow up and get a life .

I am not sure how you knew my miece Molly "Brooke" Cohran. But I wanted to let you know that I believe it all starts with respecting your parents, elders and those in your life. Most kids,(not all) these days do not have respect for their parents, teachers or life, and that is why it was easy for these guys to do what they did to MOlly and Yahshika.

I am not trying to argue with you, or prove you wrong. Everyone has their own opinons and you should respect theirs as they should yours.

Two beautiul, young lives were taken that night...I think we should try to come together and pray for both families.

Before you start trying to smart your elders (a moral that was taught back then) I would suggest you learn how to spell. But that be as it may be, it is clear you do not have the values that older and more mature adults have. I have to work with a lot of college kids and I have found that most are lazy and looking for a hand out. I have had some say that they don't have to do this or they don't have to do that because it isn't in their job description. I have fired a lot of them because of their attitudes and their philosophy of being owed something.

I have found that only a few of the graduates from High School have any common sense when it comes to morals and even fewer have any form of work ethics. Age has nothing to do with it as it does with how you are raised. If you are raised with morals and ethics, then those morals and ethics will be evident before you get out of High School.

You need to define more clearly what you said...the 2 girls that died were NOT the girls that were fighting...They were 2 innocent girls that were invited to this party that were trying to get out the door when all of the fighting started...Another thing is, the adults that were there, ARE the ones responsible for letting that mess get out of hand...Who has a party or some large get- together and NOT HAVE SECURITY!!! Especially a Teen party !!! Yes they are at FAULT as they will soon find out in the courts!!!
