The Sage wrote: Bible thumpers have always tried to put lead shoes on scientific advancement. It was bible thumping Christians who insisted the earth was the center of the universe. It was Christian bible thumpers who threatened the lives of anyone who suggested the earth was round.
Evolution happens. There are species of whale that scientists have every single evolutionary step they took. If we don't share a common ancestor with chimps, why would our DNA be 99% identical? Wouldn't it be totally different, like that of say, a potato?
Creationism is a stupid story that ignorant bible thumpers cling to like a 5 year old being told there is no Santa Claus. The Creationist Museum is good for some laughs. They have a display there with humans riding on saddles on the backs of dinosaurs! First, dinos died off millions of years before humans started showing up on the radar. I don't know how these bible thumpers can't understand that!? But what's even funnier is they put the humans on saddles with stirrups, which were not invented until like the 1400's!! When I first came to Topix I was unfamiliar with un-moderated forums. I found that the Top Stories sections was full of trolls, idiots and spinless liars. At that point I decided to stick to forums that only have issues that interest me such as Christianity and local news. Then I discovered that sometimes topics were indexed into several sections. Gay issue are a good example. I felt it was a simple matter of integrity to stay out of the gay forums so they would have their own place for discussion. Threads on homosexuality that originated in Christianity or my local news I would participate in. If the article originated in the GLT sections I stayed out. This is something you obviously would never undertsand as you spend your life in a forum in which you do not believe, are not associated with and are only here to tell people your way is the only way. No, don't give us that crap that you never said that. That is clearly your agenda. Your purpose here is clear.

Actually, the point of this verse (or two) is comparison, not discouragement of growth. In fact, the Bible is all about growth, in love and character and in understanding. The point being made in this verse is that God's wisdom surpasses all others - to the point of making them look foolish.
