11alive's new site

[GIVE ME A BREAK]

I am starting a new discussion in TOPIX to which we all have enjoyed. I do not like their new site and wish they'd go back to the 'old' one. Why fix something if it is not broken?

Yea, it's really bad. I couldn't even find any local news stories outside of the four on the front page? The "local news" on the menu bar just refreshes the front page.

I take some of that back, their was 6 additional "local" story links on the side bar, but it is still a step down in ease of use for a news website and seems skimpier on stories than before.

It seems that many of the posts in the site are not liking the new set up. I liked the other one. Perhaps they will change back. I am now going to go to www.wsbtv.com or www.myfoxatlanta.com for the local news.
I used to go to 11's site MANY times a day.

No problem! But one thing I have noticed is that news sites that change their layouts never change them back, even if the new ones sucks. They consider that an admission of failure.

I do assume we are topix junkies, but the fact that 11alive provided a way to it with one topic being discussed was awesome.

It's too bad the powers that be at 11alive turned their public face over to some 23 yr old hot-shot web developer. The ironic part is that the website guy will never tell management what they lost...but then why should we care anyway? Don't hitch your wagon to a lame mule.

YUP gotta agree - and I'm a relative youngn' and I can't quite figure out how to use the site - and it's not updating on Yahoo news either like it was. Not sure what is going on with it - hopefully they'll figure it all out. I hate it when sites change - especially going from simple backgrounds to more complex ones. I don't understand why every site feels like it needs to offer a blog to everyone, either. If I want one, I'll get one at a blogspot type site, not from a news station.:)

Sadly, probably the only thing that really drew me to WXIA's site was that it was easy to get around and find things without a lot of clutter (ie like WSB's) and of course - the Topix commenting part of it.

Now... well... nothing special drawing me to it.

if you notice though - there are no comments in the forums except for those of WXIA employees.:) So, maybe they will get the hint. Here's hoping!

maybe they don't want us to visit? i'm with everyone else...going to stick with WSB or even CNN at this point. what a waste, 11 Alive!
