Well, my wife and I could not believe it when Clarence was moved from the morning show, we felt that he was the best (male) morning news personality on local television. Now, Flip is gone too.......What's happening to 11 alive? We always thought that Elaine was good as a weekend anchor but, that hasn't happened in awhile either.
We like Karen just fine but, not 2 women on the morning news and, we don't want to lose Jill either. So long Flip, we really enjoyed you!

I have been watching the 11Alive morning news since our family moved here in 1990.
They all seem like family (especially Jill) and I will miss Flip. It took me awhile to get used to his name. I enjoyed his wit and his morning presentation of the local weather. God Bless you, Flip!

To Flip -
My family and I moved to Atlanta in August of 2006. When trying to decide on a news channel to be loyal to, we passed by 11 alive and a energenic and fun loving guy was standing in fron of a green screen. I was about to get going when your name came across the screen. I loved it. I was instantly hooked - thanks for all your good times.

WOW! More BAD news for Atlanta! From two country radio stations firing all but three members now to Flip leaving. Let us hope this isn't some type of "package" deal. Altanta's radio and news is truly going to waste.

Flip we will miss your smiling face, funny interactions with Jill, Randy, and Clarence (who has also disappeared from our mornings). Your personality and weather reporting was one of the top reasons for 11 Alive being our morning news station. It saddens us to see you go and it saddens us even more that 11Alive management does not have the decency and common courtsey to let Flip say his farewells to the devoted viewers of 11Alive morining news. Just like with Ken...one day they're there and poof, the next day they're gone. That's a real tactful, professional way to treat your loyal audience. By no way will my remaining a devoted morning viewer have anything to do with the sorry management at this station....IT IS SOLEY DUE TO JILL and RANDY. Get rid of them and 11Alive news will be history in our household!

GOOD LUCK FLIP IN OUR YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS! REMEMBER THAT WHEN OPEN DOOR CLOSES ANOTHER ONE OPENS AND WE PRAY THAT THAT OPEN DOOR IS FULL OF SUCCESS, HEALTH AND WEATHER :o) YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED!! GOD BLESS!!

It's only been a couple days, but without the guy who introduced us to the phrase "as cool as the other side of the pillow", the morning news on channel 11 just seems a bit less enthusiastic. The banter between Flip & Randy seemed to liven up the early morning broadcast. I really thought that Flip would eventually be Atlanta's next "Guy Sharpe".

And poor Clarence. Before he left the morning news, he said he was looking forward to not having to get up so early, but he just seems like a better anchor-person than field-reporter.

I'm not ready to give up on 11alive for my morning news, but it sure ain't the same. I like Karen & Jill, and Chris is a decent enough weatherman. There's just a lot less personality these days. Seems flat.

Best of luck to the Spice-man.

Flip,
You will be truly missed. This is a real shock. You were on our TV every weekday morning, the morning team got us going each day. Your humor and interesting facts, the banter with Randy, were all fun to watch. Flip, Best Wishes in your future endeavors.
I for one would like to know what the management of Channel 11 hoped to accomplish with this bonehead move? You lost a good one. If you believe evrything the consultants say, you will lose all your base.

Mr. Spiceland,
I will miss you because almost every morning during the week, I have made it a point to watch your weather forecast, especially when bad weather was approaching. You proved to be the most accurate forecaster. Even your "hunches" that sometimes contridicted the weather service official forecast turned out the be accurate most of the time.
Thank you and good luck in all you do.

Diane Delozier
