A beautiful soul is no longer with us at Benjamin E. Mays high school. We will dearly miss this wonderful young lady. Our prayers go out to her family.

I know from personal experience that this is a hard time for the family. God will be with you all in your time of need. She was a beautiful young woman while here on earth, and she will remain this way in heaven. My heart goes out to her family & friends.

My prayers go up to the families of both victims. Rodquelli fulfilled her life's purpose on earth. And, I pray that her family, her best friend, Courtney (who sounds more like a sister-who will miss her dearly; and possibly take this very hard), and all of their class mates can receive that God sends us all to fulfill a purpose "for Him". Our only mystery is not knowing "the length of time we have to get the work done". Whatever the length of time, when God's work is complete, and He is ready to receive us back, the world cannot keep us here; nor can anyone lose sight of the rest of the work we were all sent to fulfill. Rodquelli's effect on all who she encountered has evidently proven that she touched those whom God sent her to touch in ways that they will never forget. And, so, her work (for the Lord) has been fulfilled (here). She is in a better place now. Embrace what she gave; but, remain clearly focused on the individual assignment that each one of you now have to fulfill so that someone (hopefully many) can also say that you have all done what God sent you to do-touch somebody in a special way each day.

It is heartbeaking to hear that another teen has died in a car accident. What a beautiful young girl. May she sing with the Angels in Heaven now.

I have a young daughter who just got her learner's. I will show her this so that she knows that it can happen to anybody. These are dangerous times and we all have to slow down. GOD bless her and her family.

Why must another young person die with a full life ahead simply because of speed or some other thing. Young drivers need help. Maybe if the driving age was raised, when a teen did get a license, they would be more mature and careful. My sympathy to the family.

In my opinion raising the age isnot the problem. New driver no mater what their age are more likely to have accidents. Look at the way most peolple drive and its no wonder.

While I do feel sorry for the teen who died, I have to wonder why she was late going in for class? She died around 10am and i'm sure classes started at about 8:00am. If she had been on time then possibly this wouldn't have happened and she wouldn't have been in a hurry. Besides all that though my prayers DO go out to the mom who lost her daughter...you should never have to lose your children before you.

I see alot of teens using the cell phone and not paying attention to the road. Also they are not mature behind the wheel.
MISSING YOU RODEQUELLI

I'm a student at B. E. Mays High School and that day will be remembered always. I'm a little upset because some people and websites aren't giving out proper and accurate information on what happened, so I'm going to clear up some mistakes made by others. Rodquelli might have had trouble, for some reason, negotiating a curve near the crash site. She was driving south on Brownlee Road, SW, and left the road in the 1400 block, in front of Brownlee Villa Apartments. Michael Jones, 53, who lives in an apartment complex across the street from the accident scene, said he heard a bang Friday morning, then looked to see the car on its side next to a tree and a chain-link fence. He ran to help and found Soares in shock, but with no visible injuries. He then turned his attention to Leverett. "She had a pulse," Jones said. "I bowed my head and prayed,'God save her.... Don't take her.' But it was too late." Police said the driver's side of the car crashed into the tree, and Rodquelli was pinned inside, but alive. Atlanta firefighters were able to extract her from the wreckage, but she died at the scene soon after. Courtney Soares' injuries were non-life-threatening, but our hearts and prayers go out to her also. That morning around 9:15am a group of Mays High School students including myself were on a field trip to the 100 black men debate between FAMU and TSU. We traveled down brownlee rd until we reached the firetrucks and police cars, unable to get through the bus had to turn around. Unaware that is was Courtney and Rodquelli, we assumed that somebody was driving to fast and crashed into one another. It was not until around 1:00pm when were sitting in the GA World Congress Center and had just been informed of what was going on and that the accident we saw that morning was the cause of our dear friends' death. The rest of that at school was hard to deal with knowing that someone that your were just speaking to in the hallway the other day will not be there tomorrow or ever. I and alot of others will miss her dearly but I know that God does everything for a reason and we can not question him. God is trying to show us students, our generation something and its up to us to either pay attention or continue doing your own thing. Its your choice! This was a big wake up call to alot of us and I personally take it seriously. Please pray for all of us and keep Rodquelli's mother in your prayers. The Mays High Family will be sad for a while but we thank God for letting us borrow one of his sweet angels and that she's with him now. We Love You Always Reodquelli!*Rodquelli Leverett* BENJAMIN ELIJAH MAYS CLASS OF 2008**OUR ANGEL*

I am posting this comment as the mother of Courtney the surviving passenger. Thank you to everyone for your supporting words and Thank you to even the statements that don't seem as supporting. For everyone reading, please understand GOD does not make any mistakes! Everything is divine order. I am deeply hurt for our lost and many families are affected here not just mine. Lets not worry ourselves about the time speed nor all the irrelevant questions. Let's remember Rodquellia as the sweet, beautiful angel that she was here on this earth and the angel that she is now in heaven looking down on all of us. Be kind to one another and time heals all wounds.
