The Georgia Legislature is considering drug testing the recipents of welfare and unemployment benefits. It is about time to stop drug users from getting this money.

I would like to ask Representative Harden who pays his salary? And if he would be willing to add to his legislation random drug testing for all Georgia State Representatives and Senators? People complain about second & third generation citizens living off of welfare, but we hear little complaint about second & third generation politicians essentially living off of the public dole! I wonder how many members of the state congress would be able to pass a drug test if it were given today. I would like to ask him if the Wall Street CEOs & CFOS who took taxpayer handouts should also be subjected to random drug tests, since it is because of these greedy immoral rat bastards that most folks in Georgia right now are in need of help.

My first thought is--Are you afarid you will loose your benefits because of your drug use...
These greedy rat bastards you speak of are on a payroll, and I am sure if their performance was not up to par, actions would be taken.

Random drug test for unemployement--I say yes. I have been on unemployement, after 10 years with a company, I would have had no problem with a drug test to receive benefits.

I worked for several years in retail (grocery stores) I have seen first hand the second and third and forth generation food stamp, EBT card users, people know how to work the system, and if it is not addressed, sooner rather than later there will be no system to work off of. Just enough to stir the pot.

Not you, apparently. You don't even live in Georgia. Personally I think this is a step in the right direction. I'm guessing you're probably a college student that doesn't even pay taxes anyways.

Most government employees are subject to drug tests, myself included. I've had dozens of them.

If people paid by the tax payers are expected to stay drug free, so should people receiving benefits from tax payers. Why should tax payers subsidize the drug habits of junkies?

Right Sage, and why should the gov't let our tax money be used by these people to commit a crime by using illegal drugs.
