Just wanted to let you know the firefighters are still on the seen and spraying the embers at after 5:00am. They have been working all night and have done an amazing job to keep it from spreading throughout the neighborhood.

OK, if this was a fire due to CHRISTMAS decorations, don't you think they were probably having a CHRISTMAS party. What is up with this holiday party crap? There are holidays every month and we call them what they are. Glad to see that WSBTV.COM called it a CHRISTMAS party. Seems as if the local ABC station isn't SCARED to call it what it was!

If you watch the video / live report, Blair Meeks says CHRISTMAS PARTY / CHRISTMAS decorations.

I go to school with the man's daughter who owned this house, and I've also met him. He's really nice and this is a kind of thing that shouldn't happen to anyone.

I live right by this house and i think i should give some more details the news has left out: ok so around 9pm the wind blows over a candle the candle caught a plant on fire. as you all no there were lots of cars at the house for the party so you know that didnt help the fire. this guy walking around the park saw the candle start the fire and he ran straight into the house yelling fire and telling everyone to get out. everyone did get out safely. this house was really close to all of the houses in 2 different neighborhoods. my neigbors all around started to panic. my neighbors got the kids out of the house and they went across the street. but the parents stayed in the backyard spraying the fence and yard so their house wouldnt catch on fire, this upset the two young girls. then my mom went back there to help and my father and the neighbors mom went to the peoples house who were out of town to look for their dog. then my dad stayed to wet the fence and yard so it wouldnt catch on fire. so the fire was going well into the morning. we have taken in the fact that if there had been wind the houses all around the house that was on fire would have caught on fire. so we are very thankful to god for not letting there be wind and stopping the fire and making everyone get out safe! oh and i thought you all would like to let you know the house was made out of all wood and had this chemical on it to make it look better and the chemical caught fire easily and kept the fire going!
well thats all i know but i know my neighbor knows more but i dont want to bother them since they had a long night.

I noticed the 11 Alive online article asks for people to send in photos/videos from when this was The Christmas House at Chastain Park. Yes, it is the same property that once held The Christmas House, but it IS NOT the same house.

The current owner built an entirely new home on the property that was completed a little over a year ago.

I am thankful that everyone is safe, and that no other houses caught fire. Maybe this will remind people that you have to be very careful with candles - it is best to never leave them unattended. Thank you for giving more details.

OK, guys....everyone had their own opinions, and rumors run rampant. There was not someone running in the house screaming "fire" who saw the candle blow over. It was most likely started by an electrical shortage with the Christmas lights outside. We were inside, and saw it on the porch, and then it took over....the fire dept. took about 30 minutes to get there, and by then it was too far gone. We couldn't move the cars because they were too close to the fire...2 were damaged and one was totally burned. It is sad as it was a HOME, not a house. Everyone is safe, which is the good thing, and it's a blessing it didn't spread to any of the other homes, however, it is a traumatic event, and ignorance and finger-pointing does nothing to make a terrible tragedy better. Put a little love in your hearts...

Merry Christmas
