Jury: Life plus 110 years for 19-year-old

A 19-year-old Stone Mountain man was sentenced to life plus 110 years in prison Wednesday after a Gwinnett County jury found him guilty of nine burglaries and the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

It's a family's worst nightmare. The sanctity of their home being invaded by a thug with criminal intent. The rape and brutalization of that precious underage girl was a terrible crime.

A life sentence is a long time for a 19 year old. He deserves every day of his sentence.

This guy admits he did some burglries, but denies the rape. The rapist is a masked man, and the article does not explain how the rape victim was able to identify him. That is a pretty glaring omission. Rape victims sometimes get it wrong when they see the rapit's face. In a mask, her identification seems pretty worthless. Of course, with a rape you would expect DNA, but the article is silent about that.

Police and prosecutor decided to railroad this guy. Georgia jury uses it peech-braned style of thinking to say: "hmmm, if this guy did burglaries then he must be a rapist, too."

On appeal, this guy will eventually get a better lawyer who will get the DNA. It is not going to match. Will the Georgians learn a lesson? Probably not. They never do.

Hmmm, I don't see that in the definition, Mr. Finch. Soooo, you are saying that you didn't hear this anywhere then.
