What a wonderful and innovative idea. Back in the days when the mission statement was safety of STAFF first , they had locks on the doors (for a reason). They had a " special" unit with enhanced and experienced staff and supervisors ( for a reason)and as far as the so called "hospital police" , they should be on every unit and not hiding behind thier tin badge in the brake room. Any line staff that remember those days will agree. This is no NEW idea. To those i served with , i salute you.
