Man if you think that you are going to venture out to one of these sites and get some free dope....you are nuts. Those guys growing pot are armed. They would shoot you, and bury you in the woods. Dumb ass.

De-criminalize marijuana for adults and legalize controlled sales/and tax. Yearly! savings.$500+ million in "enforcement", another $500+ in incarceration, and GAIN!$500 million in new tax revenue. AND THE END OF THE MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS WAR OF POLLUTION ON YOSEMITE! AND THE DEA'S WAR ON Medicinal Marijuana!

How do these criminals get into the parks with miles of drip line and hundreds of pounds of fertilizer? I don't want to promote profiling, but if you see a Mexican with a back pack...it should be a red flag.
Hispanics? Hiking? Photograph them with your cell phones and call the sheriff. These scum are destroying the environment.

Legalizing marijuana and it goes away? I'd say go for it if that were true. However, doesn't it just move dealers to sell to kids? You haven't taken away the market, you've just moved it to, in my opinion, a more vulnerable population. Just say no WILL not cut it for teens and pre-teens. Remember, we're dealing with a group of people whose brains are not done developing--especially regarding judgment and decision-making skills.

Your first suggestion is well taken, reporting suspicious backpackers helps. Unfortunately under the present circumstances being Hispanic adds to the suspicion. Of course we should not assume Hispanic backpackers are automatically criminals. I know Hispanics who are serious about conservation, and they are always welcome in the forest.

We should definitely legalize pot -- marijuana prohibition makes no more sense than alcohol prohibition.

No one was arrested? They must be warning the illegal Mexicans to get out before the raids. Job security for next year.
Err, that's UNdocumented Mexcans if you please.(otherwise you might get censored) The PC police are everywhere these days.

If we could run our dogs off leash at Lighthouse Field, we could relax more and we wouldn't need to smoke dope and support the illegal drug growers.

That makes perfect sense as it relates to this story!
