Why Some Filipinos Fought Hard to Defeat Barack Obama

There are 1085 comments on the www.philnews.com story from Jan 2, 2009, titled Why Some Filipinos Fought Hard to Defeat Barack Obama. In it, www.philnews.com reports that:

On November 4, 2008, Americans shattered the racial divide and elected the first black man to lead the most powerful country on earth. And as Americans from coast to coast rejoiced in Obama's victory so did the rest of the mankind. Worldwide, Obama was the overwhelming choice...except in two countries. In a Gallup poll conducted for this US presidential election, only the countries of Georgia and the Philippines preferred John McCain by statistically significant margins.

RP health care exec convicted over $100-M fraud
By. Joseph G. Lariosa –Tempo
CHICAGO, Illinois – An American president and chief executive officer of a Philippine-registered Health Visions Corporation (HVC) based in Olongapo City in the Philippines was sentenced Tuesday (June 17) to serve five years in prison for defrauding a U.S. government agency more than $100 million in phony health claims.
Assistant U.S. attorney peter M. Jarosz for the Western District of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin told this reporter over the phone that Thomas Arthur Lutz, 41, got a deferred sentence to give him time to liquidate the assets of HVC so he and the company can repay the restitution amounting to $99 million. He will start serving time on March 18, 2009.
Lutz, whose wife is a Filipina, was sentenced for mail fraud by Chief Judge Barbara B. Crabb or the United States District Court of Western District of Wisconsin in Madison.
Last April 24, 2008, judge Crabb also sentenced the Health Visions Corporation also for mail fraud to liquidate all of its assets and pay $99,915,131 in restitution,$500,000 fine, and forfeit $ 910,910.60. The corporation was placed on probation and was given 10 months to liquidate its assets.
Prosecutors sad the company routinely inflated claims by more than 230 percent, operated a phony insurance program and billed for medical services never delivered.

Visaya,
You are absolutely right about that: "The votes of the Filipinos did not matter, unlike the Latinos." I hope more Filipinos are well informed as you are.
jo jo jo,
I agree with you 100% about your statement.
You said, "If you know filipinoes, you know that like many cultures of brown skin, they hate darker skin, Only American liberals, the most backward thinkers on earth, think that skin color darker than theirs is a good thing. This is fact!" You are correct. The Philippines is a country of extreme contradictions: There is at least 96%+ of Filipinos whoa are from the Negritos, Malays, and Chinese ancestry. As a result of this mixture, the general population of Filipinos is of dark or brown skin. The other 3%+ of the population have lighter skin complexion due to the fact that their great-great grand mother and nieces were raped by their forme brutal Spanish conquerors.
I argue that the manner in which Filipinos with "white" skin complexion get their "whiteness" have nothing special to be proud of. Matter of fact, some of these Filipinos think they are whither than white caucasians. These Filipinos are "non-white" regardless their lighter skin complexion.
Further, I argue that the Filipinos of brown skin complexion who hate people who are darker than they are behave that way because of a severe lack of their own ancestral history and because of comnplex of deep inferiority.
What the brown skin Filipinos are doing by hating others who are brown or darker skin complexion is a total rejection or a repudiation of their own ancestry. They should be so ashamed of themselves! But I don't think they are because of the mindset that dictates "whiteness" at all costs even through bleaching and lethal doses of drugs they subject themselves to!~
Those Filipinos who don't even know where they came from would not vote for Obama due to the fact that he is 'non-white'. I think that kind of attitude makes the Philippines one of the worst racist and bigotted countries around the world. I have been in many other countries, but I have never experienced such level of bigotry due to skin complexion. Who would educate those Filipinos who reject their own ancestry? Who would educate those Filipinos about the need to feel good about their brown or dark skin complexion?
I submit to you that by rejecting their own ancestry, they are engaging on a journey of self-destruction.
Simply awesome...

It is absolutely correct to say, "On November 4, 2008, Americans shattered the racial divide and elected the first black man to lead the most powerful country on earth."

My question is this: Why is it since 333 years ago to this present time in history, Filipinos have failed to shatter their own "cultural divide" whereby the white-skin Filipinos, a minority, are the economically advantaged individuals in the land, while the brown-skin Filipinos who consist of 95%+ of the population linger in poverty?

How socially, economically, and politically serious is the skin color within the context of the Filipino Life?

The Senate Ethics Committee launched an investigation into Burris on February 17, 2009, for repeatedly altering his statements regarding his appointment to the Senate and his contacts with Gov. Blagojevich and the governor's associates. Burris was elevated to the Senate seat by the governor on December 30, 2008. When questions were raised about the appointment, Sen. Burris proclaimed, "I don't have any taint from Governor Blagojevich." Over the next several months, Burris offered at least three different explanations under oath of how he came to be appointed to the Senate.

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA)- Conflict of Interest
http://www.crewsmostcorrupt.org/summaries/mwa...
By using her position as a member of Congress to assist a bank in which her husband was a stockholder, Rep. Waters violated House conflict-of-interest rules and engaged in conduct that does not reflect creditably upon the House. Waters did not disclose her financial ties to OneUnited Bank to Treasury officials in her letters requesting meetings between regulators and bank officials. Treasury officials claimed that although OneUnited also requested a meeting with regulators regarding Fannie and Freddie Mac losses, it wasn't until Waters intervened that the Treasury approved a meeting.

OBAMA NATION is similiar to the The phrase “abomination of desolation” refers to Matthew 24:15 (KJV):“So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand.” This is referring to Daniel 9:27,“He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” In 167 B.C. a Greek ruler by the name of Antiochus Epiphanies set up an altar to Zeus over the altar of burnt offerings in the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. He also sacrificed a pig on the altar in the Temple in Jerusalem. This event is known as the abomination of desolation similiar to OBAMA NATION.com !!

Daniel 9:27 (HCSB)— He will make a firm covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.”

Daniel 12:11 (HCSB)— From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.

Matthew 24:15 (HCSB)—“So when you see the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place”(let the reader understand),

So what will this desolating statue be? There happens to be an statue featured prominently in Revelation 13 where the Antichrist and False Prophet are introduced. It is called the "image of the beast" or a statue made of the Antichrist by the False Prophet that all must worship. The Antichrist will desolate the temple mount by commanding the statue to be set up for worship at the same time that he halts another form of worship to the real God: the daily oblation sacrifices (Daniel 12:11).

This is just as Antiochus Epiphanes also did earlier in setting up a statue of Zeus and stopping kosher sacrifices, as a type of the Antichrist. Therefore it seems Revelation and Daniel indicate that history will repeat itself in how the abomination of desolation is fulfilled by a statue being placed in the Third Temple compound, this time of the Antichrist himself, the image of the beast.
