I taught sociology inMooresville In. I believe that Mr Dillinger was given a very harsh sentence by a Judge Joseph Williams for a first offense. His rebellion was to rob banks and live dangerously.

I've been to that lodge in Little Bohemia Wisconsin where the FBI tried to capture him. There are still bullet holes from that day.

Bank robbers were so dashing back then. Now they're mostly really stupid.

My grandfather was Judge Joseph Williams. I never got to meet him and was just recently made aware of his involvement in John Dillinger's sentencing. It makes me wonder why he handed down such a stiff penalty and there is no one left in my family I can ask. Is there any other information about him out there in Indiana?? My email address is airtana@comcast.net Any help about his life would be appreciated.

I felt sorry for John Dillinger, he lived during the depression and was a victim of his era. HOLLY (WILDA) Bisesi
