Brooklyn's finest gangster was the original 50 cent who was a notorious robber at the height of the 80s crack epidemic. The rapper 50 cents album was taken from a statement the original 50 cent always made.."Get rich or die trying". There was also a guy by the name of Demencio. He was a popular and handsome kingpin of his time...He was killed by the infamous Alpo. Nas I believe name dropped him in a song Then there was another guy from the late 60s/early 70s...Frank Matthews I cant remember if he was from Brooklyn or Queens?..but this dude was gettin 300 million a year with a French connect before everybody!!! Matter of fact He was arrested in 73 Posted bond for 3 million Took 20 million and haven't been seen since! 40 years later and the Feds still can't find this man smh but that's the story they never tell...

. Hi Dani, I see that you 're new to this thread but the. Frank Mathews story is a matter of Harlem history . The opening segment to the Docudrama " Superfly, the truth about Frank Lucas, the American gangster" But hang with us old timers. We enjoy those that only speak what's true and at least what you said was the truth. And oh yeah it was Brooklyn, that's where Frank was from. He got snitched on by the infamous, well ask around. The story is out there. Not a name dropper but the whole thing was over race. Pure and simple.

. I hate to dispute a person, and I say this in a friendly matter, but just Monday I was with a person mentioned on the very 1 st entry to this thread , but I heard that remark about Nat's location and I grew up looking in his window. Is there anyone that's 50y/o or more that can put a straightener on this ? I say it was on the NE corner of 111th Street and X avenue. That's Lenox or Malcllm X boulevard. Help me old school.

Holla at my homies Driver and Gaspar

Nat Nevins was on 111th st and Lenox across from Foster projects and they had some fly shit,, anybody remember the caps called CASUAL AIRE, u usually bought them from Sir George's men store up by Columbia,, also Franklins on 125 between seventh and Lenox going east. U could get real FLY back in the day, and never leaving Harlem. But you had Leightons, Phil Cromfield, Sidberrys Blye Shop downtown.
