Hello Soapbox,
I know you were addressing Pete, but just to provide some information for you: Goldfinger Terrell was a major trafficker throughout the city between the 1960s and early 1970s. Several NY Times articles count him as one of the most notorious traffickers up to 1973. Goldfinger is alleged to have set the tone with distinguishing "packages"; in his case a yellow string was tying the heroin bundle. According to the Times article, several rivals cut into his profits by imitating his packages.
Goldfinger Terrell was found murdered around 1978. Authorities suspected that a rival killed him, in a quest to eliminate competition. The NY Times speculated then, that a number of dealers were feuding for dominance, after the conviction of Nicky Barnes.
Unlike the NY Post and Daily News, the Times has an accessible archive online. From 1975 to 1979, the paper listed the biggest black drug dealers (besides Nicky Barnes) as Frank Lucas, Claude Helton, and Robert Stepeney.
Dont know how true this is, but, I heard that Jimmy Terrell was lullabyed after he was set up.I wont bore U with any details I heard, and again, I cant say with any degree of certainty that its true. To me, it sounds a bit fishy but I'll keep my reasons why to myself. Its a few stories floating around.

as for the basketball players in the Rucker Park you can't begin to talk basketball in the rucker without saying Carlton Greene from the colonial projects. Than we gotta mention Leroy Shaw and Arnold Dugger these guys were the best point guards in the park. And Sam Worthen known as Houdini. They really need some footage on Master Rob and Artie Green somebody really needs to find that. And what about Super Kid Alonzo Jackson from 116th street.

Hey. I've heard about Harlem (I know this is a Harlem forum) Brooklyn n queens and their heavy weights. But does the Bronx have any heavy weights from the past besides Larry Davis
From what I understand Larry Davis, aka Adam Hakeem, worked for some rogue cops out of the 42 precinct back in the days when there was no law against crap. They would set dealers up, make him stick them up, then make him sell the work. Then they wanted all the money. I lived right around the corner from the shoot out and till this day I have no idea how he got out of the building..He beat 9 counts of attempted murder on the police for shooting 9 detectives right across the street from the old Bronx hospital emergency room. None died. Davis had William Kunsler for his attorney Got convicted for doing one of the police set ups

Hey GHOST, Icky was my friend and brother, I miss him a lot, he is also the first person I ever knew with over a million dollars in cash, had me help him count it because as he said he didn't trust a machine to do it, in 1984 rick, guy fisher and I spent the evening in ricks joint on 7th ave playing pool, I was sent upstate and while I was in a dorm on Rikers here comes Ricky with a f##ked up sentence, I ended up in Attica and when I got out was taken shackled to laguardia and told not to return to NYC for 25 years, I learned that Ricky died in 2008. Ghost my email address is gasparvetrano@aol.com, drop me a line and swill email you my phone number, if you google my name you will see my book and pictures of me Giddy Jones and Ike Atkinson when the 3 of us were inducted into the American Gangster Museum last April, I had the curator Asher put Lucas and Barnes in another room because I didn't want to have my picture and profile in the same room as the rats of the game.

Ghost, I was kind of brief but I sent the last post from my phone and here in Revere Ma. the police will give you a $150 ticket for texting in your moving car. What you said George F told you about being sold not told is on the money, that is exactly what I did with my book, I make no apology by gaspar vetrano, to date the book has sold in excess of 100000 copies, I also signed a deal for a movie for 1.3 million and 7% of the gross, sounds all good right? well here is the FU##ed up part, the publishing company Publish America has not paid me a dime and my court date with them is in June 2013, the movie deal is with Ridley Scott Associates on Layfayette st in NYC, same company that did American Gangster with that lying punk/rat Frank Lucas (If you google Gaspar Vetrano) you can see a picture of the real American Gangster, Ike Atkinson who just wrapped up 32 years in the Federal Joint, last April 11th Ike got on the stage at the American Gangster Museum and told the press and I quote "for the last time I am telling everyone I am not related to Frank Lucas and have done business with him because even in his early days everyone mistrusted Frank because we all thought him to be weak" these are Ike's words not mine but I totally agree with him and have much respect for him, he is a giant. As for Ricky, well we always called each other brother. Now as for the movie deal, I signed the contract in December 2010 I flew into NYC and went to the Scott's office by their Limo, Ridley was out of town so my lawyer and I signed the contract and Ridley's brother Tony signed it, the aggreement was on October 1st 2012 I would recieve a check for $650,000 dollars to be repeated when the movie was finished and get 7% of the gross of the movie world wide, that also sounds great, NO? OK this past September Tony Scott jumps of a MFing bridge and kills himself!!! two weeks before I am to get my money, his brother, punk mfer that he is says to my lawyer "we have to renegotiate!! Now Ghost what I am going to say may offend a lot of people but it is too bad because I never feel bad for a person that cannot accept the truth. I am a 66 year old man of Italian decent, every time I have had ANYTHING to do with a white person I either end up in thew joint or screwed, never fails so I try my best to avoid them like the god damn plague, several people on this site have read my book and I have become friends with them, one gentleman whose name I will not mention traveled and spent his own money to come to the American Gangster Museum the night I was inducted into it. As I said email me and I will send you my number, I have some stories about Ricky that will have you on the floor crying with laughter, Ricky was only five foot six but had the heart of a lion.
