REAL MEN DON'T SNITCH!!!
Like it or not these men like Lucas, Bumpy Johnson, Freddie Myers,Guy Fisher etc are black entrepreneurs whosome did find inventive ways to deal their death to the black community and all the whites who ventured into Harlem for drugs. We all learned about the “good things or actions of note” of many historical figures and tend to look at one aspect of their lives while ignoring the other parts.Thomas Jefferson was president and a great American icon, but he was also a serial rapist, slave owner and child molester. History glosses over these details and we tend to look at his other qualities. But we don’t do that for black men. Why? you know. We know th e human side of all these figures but rarely find out about the black stories. I think moolie is defending the honor of the Italian mob and rightfully so. It wasn’t the first time crime was organized, but it was ans is the most memorable. nowadays the gay Mafia is more powerful in the Us but times have changed. I’ll enjoy the movie for what it is. I’ll look to see historiacal accuracies in scences about Harlem and NYC.This country was built by criminals and still run by them. So a guy gets his story told. so what. He bypassed his competition and sold a better quality death. Take the idea and apply it to real business. The real movie should be about Frank Matthews out of Bk. He was the true black Godfather in money made and scale and he jumped bail and they haven’t caught him yet! Another poor black kid from the South coming up north to make a better life. More stories of the black experience.
You might want to take Lucas out of that group. How do you think he only served 15 years? And is it a coincedence that the DA who locked him up later became his attorney? I doubt it was over a change of heart on Frank's innocense. Who did Frank help lock up? Had to be somebody. A 70 year sentence reduce to 15? Please!

And while Guy Fisher never snitched - he broke code (sleeping with Nicky's girl and riding around in his cars), and he should have been dealt with on that. While I do not agree with what Nicky did, I don't agree with what guy did either.

If Guy was dealt with (if everyone was in the Italian mob - someone in the the family would have "hit" Guy for his bad choice), Nicky would not have felt justified in betraying dudes he ran with. I'm just sayin...

I'v e read the articles, books and have seen the movies on the various personalities in Harlem during the 60s and 70s. I was there and experienced "the life" first-hand. One of the true gangtas was Cody King Cody" Griffin; he, along with "Fat Man", Jack Taylor, ruled 116th Street, the then drug capital in America.

I read the artical in feds magazine and it just depics all the things that goes on in the hood. Its not a good life to live but the key is to live so if thats the only thing within your reach and these folks can take it to the level that they do its just shows over and over again why as blacks we are so feared in the country.because no matter what we know how to make something out of nothing.

Freddie's story is one hell of a street tale. Like all good kingpins in the trade, Freddie Myers aka. NY Freddie eventually got knocked by the feds. But unlike many kingpins that get handed major sentences behind prison walls, Freddie Myers served his 24 years in prison...and his family served their time, too. His wife and step-children did their time in prison as well, and his 13-year-old daughter was forced to grow up on her own. Freddie Myers never snitched, owned up to what he did and served his time.'KINGPING: The Freddie Myers Story' is the first ever DVD to chronicle his incredible story.

"AFTER 24 YEARS IN THE FEDERAL PRISON, HARLEM'S BIGGEST DRUG DEALER TELLS ALL..."

KINGPINS (TRUE STORIES)

THE WARD BROTHERS:

In the 70’s, the notorious Ward Brothers ruled a criminal empire in Oakland, CA. They mainly dealt in drugs and prostitution. These 'pretty boy' Creole brothers had relocated from New Orleans several years earlier. Frank Ward could be seen all over Oakland rolling in a gold-plated Caddy with customized rims. He was usually attired in one of his full-length fur coats and matching fur hat. He sported two multi-carat rings (worth thousands) on each of his pinky fingers. Ward had a closet specifically built to house his vast wardrobe, the closet housed numerous silk shirts, shark skin suits, Italian suits, Superfly attire, hundreds of hats, crocodile and alligator loafers and numerous furs.
He created a buzz when he showed up with his stable of beauties at the Ali-Frazier fight at Madison Square Garden in 1971. Other Playas (from across the country) greeted Ward with respect and admiration; he was treated like royalty. Ward received a similar reception at the “Wattstax” music festival as well as Las Vegas where he liked to get away and play baccarat and blackjack at the tables. He was also a big tipper, he tipped with hundred dollar bills before it became fashionable.Frank Ward also helped create and organize the first “Players Ball.” Ward also gave annual invitation only picnics; which were hugely popular. This was the only day his hookers got off.

Pimps and hookers participated in softball games and touch football. Ward hired cooks to prepare ribs, links, chicken, hamburger, steaks, potato salad and baked beans. He spent hundreds of dollars just on food.

Ward was considered the “Iceberg Slim” of the West Coast. He even taught his women how to boost merchandise out of high-end department stores.

Frank Ward also owned several apartment buildings throughout the bay area where he housed his women.

Frank Ward became the black godfather of Oakland’s underworld. In 1973, the brothers partially financed the film “The Mack,” starring Max Julien. The concept of the film was based on Frank Ward. The Ward Brothers were also featured in “The Mack” and Frank Ward began dating the film’s star, Carol Speed. Lead character, Max Julien drove Frank Ward's customized Caddy in "The Mack." Shortly after production, one of Ward’s women was in Los Angeles, she heard that an contract had been taken out on his life, she rushed back to Oakland to warn him, it was too late, they were both ambushed and killed in Berkeley, CA. Shortly afterwards, Ward's brother hurriedly left town, he was never seen again, it was assumed that he went back to New Orleans.
