There is an old legend about the building of a small wooden fortress named after Prince Yaroslavl and set on the right bank of the Volga river at the confluence Kotorosl river. via Crossville Chronicle

I can vouch for Uglich cheese having bought some in a small store off the town square in October 2006 while on a river cruise. It's delicious!
