Looks like a good time for everyone.
I think the key to enjoying things is that if you want to be at an event, be there. But if you have nothing special to do, stay at home, or in your hotel room and enjoy the air-conditioning and relax.
Sure there will be lots of entertainment, and good food for everyone and to meet everyone's taste and interest.

Keep a close eye on your children, I wouldn't let them leave the motel room (there is no lodging in this hick town that I would consider a hotel.)
Take a look at the recent news stories, there are countless reports of convicted child predators, child molesters, child rapists, child abusers, all of these sick men in Gettysburg.
Then there are the street gangs and the biker gangs that are all over Gettysburg. It is flat out dangerous in this town, tourists should do their research and steer clear of this cesspool of violent crime.
