I remember my first school "field Trip" to Sonora Caverns. One of the student's Mom made tuna fish sandwiches for the road. That was my first tuna fish sandwich. I remember savoring it and did not want to waste a crumb of it.
I also remember when we were working in the fields shucking onions and the Hamburger truck guy would come around during lunch time. The wonderful aroma of the hamburger patties just took over our pellets. The smell was so tentalizing while we ate our tacos de frijoles con huevo and chorizo con huevo. Speaking of memories. There used to a barbr shop. All of the barbers were brothers. I also remember a store that was around the corner. The lady would sell ingredients for tamales. What ever happened to those people. I remember how noice they were. I also remember going to a bakery. I don't remember the name but I remember it was a white building. I also remember all the stores downtown. Some of them had tvs for sale. This was a very long time ago.
Now - I will take a chorizo con huevo any time over a hamburger.

How about Don Indalecio or "Necho" as most called him, who used to hang around the Billiard, somewhere around the Teatro Luna? Does anyone have any good stories about him? I know he used to do card tricks and tricks with cigarettes and making a knife cry. Would be very interested in hearing any stories about him.

Does anyone have any information on "Polina"? The old man that used to go around the neigborhoods in his horse-driven wagon selling his home-made cheese. It was said that he used his old dirty socks to drain the cheese which made the cheese more tasteful. I wonder how much he charged for the cheese? Does anyone have a picture of Polina? Please post it here.

Note: Things we took for granted are soon becoming very faint memories
