I like the farmer's markets also (Ligonier & Latrobe's). I was planning on going to Ligonier on Saturday, but the air was a bit too cool for my wife in the early morning so I started out later. When I got to Kingston Bridge, the traffic was already backing up across the bridge.

Hopefully this Saturday will have a better outcome.

The trouble with Ligonier's farmer's market is that there are so many food stands offering all kinds of goodies and I only have one stomach.

That old fairly looks pretty good for his age, doesn't he?

Too much arts & crafts crap, though, which seems to plague that region worse than drugs. Last time I went to Fort Ligonier Days, it was exactly this same junk being sold in 3/4 of the booths. Waste of time.

I do miss kohlrabi, though. And good pizzelle.

Ligonier has one of the largest farmers market around. I go there for the fresh grown fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables did not appear to be racist at all. The vendors come from all over Westmoreland county. Several are from the Derry area. One is or was a teacher from Derry. I haven't found one yet that was from Ligonier.

Were you implying that the reason that the traffic was backing up on Kingston Bridge was due to the Farmer's Market several miles down the two-lane road?

It's a nice surprise that Redneck enjoys something other than yelling at neighborhood kids to get off his lawn.

I've never been to any of the farmer's markets around here, but on Reds recommendation, I will give it a try. It's kinda like Mikey eating Life cereal....since he hates everything, if he likes it, it must be pretty good.

I only hate ignorance, not the ignorant person. I'm here to remedy that flaw in others whenever I can...even with you in the case of the area's farmers markets.
How's that for arrogance and irritation???

something about a splinter in someone's eye is like a plank in yours. It's all New Testament. You know, if you're imperfect, then someone else is a plank-imperfect to your speck-imperfection. You know, wood humor was big at the time of Noah's Ark and such.

Matthew 7:1-5

New International Version (NIV)
Judging Others

7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother,‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
