Worley hits with songs about life, love

There are 24 comments on the The Frederick News Post story from Jun 8, 2009, titled Worley hits with songs about life, love. In it, The Frederick News Post reports that:

Darryl Worley's new single is "Sounds Like Life to Me." It's a song he co-wrote a few years ago but the message is probably more relevant today than it was back then.

I just went to the FODW party in Nashville for the 2nd year, and am really impressed with the way he(Darryl) and his whole family are so down-home country! Enjoyed my time there, and he put on a good show. Am sure he'll get the recognition he deserves one day.

am i the only one that doesnt like this particular song of his? it is about a friend who is clearly depressed and opening up to the singer about his problems. the character singing in the song tells the man to just suck it up and deal with it. its not always that easy. i think this song is uncaring and unthoughtful.

So would you feel better about the song if the depressed friend blowed his brains out in despair?

Its just a song.

I like the song okay, but I also know from experience that "sucking it up" is easier said than done sometimes. I guess it would help to know if the person telling the person to suck it up has ever experienced "life" himself. It's kind of like all these child experts who have never had kids telling the rest of us how to raise them. Nobody knows until they have been there.

I guess the better, modern American way would be just to give up, get on welfare and food stamps, and abort the baby.

Kcaz I hope you didn't think that was what I was implying, for that is not at all what I was thinking. Nothing is so bad that abortion should be considered an option. I'm just saying, it is very hard to be depressed over your situation, doing all that you can do and still can't see daylight while others around you who don't have a clue what it is like to be drowning in "life", make light of your plight.

Obama will soon have everyone on Welfare and food stamps, bread lines, etc. You will all work for the goverment with no pay other than food coupons and gas ration stamps. You wont be allowed to leave the house without your ID papers .And the Obama Gestapo will take care of your finances. No worries at all.

I'm sorry, I was referring to the person that said the song was uncaring. I should have quoted that post.

again, if you are down, depressed, overwhelmed and you open up to a friend, the words "suck up it" "it's just life" are not what you need to hear.
granted, it could always be worse, no matter what your situation is, it could always be worse. but, when you need help, support, comfort, encouragement.
IMO put it well.

I love the new song by Sounds like life to me. I find it realistic because everyone has stuff to go through. Of course we need the support of friends and family but to me the song is saying look around everyone has or has had or is going to have tough times. That's what life is all about.

what is this Obama bashing thing doing on this subject. The issue is about Darryl's new song and all of a sudden they start hitting on Obama. I disagree with some of the things he's done but it.s surely better than the Bushtail days of straight down the tubes. Let it rest and let the rest of us discuss "the local boy that is making it good".by the way I like the new song.

...Darryl knows anything about life's struggles. He's got a new old lady, new kid, new life, hot song, living the high life & making money like he owns a mint. Well, whoop dee f'ing do & Hot damn for him! Yeah, it's a money maker & maybe he will have a shitload more of 'em in due time.

It's just a song sure, but IF it were real & a close friend sitting there telling you his troubles I doubt you'd smirk & say, "Sounds like life to me!" unless you don't give a rats ass about your friend or if he's planning to blow chunks of brain all over that redneck bar they're in! Maybe you should write one called "It'll work out" or "It'll be okay...one day" and if you do then you owe me royalties for stealing my song title! LOL

You know "from savannah" no one here has the balls to step up to the big boy & say what they really think. They are either so proud of home boy for making it good or scared shitless because he's a big ole boy to say what they really want to say.

I spent enough years with country royalty to not be intimidated by any of them. Hell they all put their drawers on the same way we do honey!

Kind of shocked no one has brought up the fact maybe ole Darryl is snorting too much stuff to give a shit about any of his buddys anyway.

Hello! I am a Darryl Worley fan. Can you tell me where he lives in Savannah?

Go to Google Earth & type in his name & it will show you a map to his house. Highly unlikely you can get anywhere near it though or that he might even be there. Why not just come to Savannah to the River Run event & meet him instead?

For "Jealous much"...what the Hell is there to be jealous of? Maybe I know him personally dickweed, he may be my next door neighbor...hmmmm...ever considered that one? I may happen to also know where he is getting his "shit" if I've seen it with my own eyes. Maybe it's you who is jealous.

You don't know me, how I live my life or how I make my living or my money either. I may have more money than ole Darryl honey! If I were you I wouldn't bet the bank on trying to guess that one honey.

Just face it, not everyone is as they seem to the outside world. You can believe what you know or you can believe what you see on TV if you're just plain stupid. Your choice!

I don't normally respond to posts although I do read frequently. Worley is just another human being who met the right people and started his career well.. Good for him. But the respect for him is not there. His association with the hospital is just a tax right off. I personnaly know people that have been turned away and had to go out of town to receive help with their cancer. The "HOME OF DARRYL WORLEY"sign should go to someone more deserving. As for his song not very appropriate at all in these times to tell a friend to "suc it up" how cold hearted can u be. I know just a song but oh please.
for the drugs I do not know about but would'nt surprise me any. One of my favorite sayings that get me through a lot is:
Rest is the Lord, wait patiently for him to act. Don't be envious of evil men who prosper. Psalms 37:7
Just my opinion.
