That is so true. Nobody wants to help the poor in the united states anymore.

Justice is right; however, this event was to pick up the torch set by the Late Jorge Avendano, while during his life made it a personal mission to help these people in Juarez. His friends and fellow musicians have gathered to make sure his gift to them and El Paso lives on. I knew Jorge for many years, and he was one of El Paso's hidden treasures. He was a great teacher, mentor, and friend; in addition Jorge used to organize free Christmas concerts in El Paso's malls. I hope this torch will inspire others to create a cause like this one for El Paso, Las Cruces, and Juarez. We all forget how blessed we are to be born on the "right" side of the river...let us not forget to be human and help those who less fortunate than we.

P.S. Shame on you El Paso Times for printing a picture of Trombonist Scott Hartman (Clearly holding a trombone) and labeling him a "celebrated trumpeter!" Have a Nice Day!:)
