Nova Scotia Symphony talks break down

The best solution for most of these symphony musicians is for them to be married to a nurse, a doctor, or an engineer. That way they don't have to make a decent wage. Sort of like a built-in patron. As much as everyone on the planet wants high wages I don't think the arts organizations are going to be able to magically provide higher wages for musicians. Or if they do you can expect an 'orchestra' to consist of 10 very, very well paid musicians and the rest will be laid off. Sad, but true.
