Hi everyone.

I humbly come before you, on bent knee, asking for assistance.

I have entered my fantasy novel, The Occuscript, in a writing contest being held by Simon and Schuster with Borders

Bookstores coming along for the ride. It's called the "First Chapters" competition. The winner gets a book contract with

Simon and Schuster with Borders promising major display billing. Immediately after the contest, the winner is awarded a $5000

advance against future royalties on the book. Only first time authors are eligible. Entries are publicly displayed for 14

days from submission date. This 14 day period is the only time people can vote for the book. For the longest time, The

Occuscript was #2 out of over 500 entries. Then it started to happen...

A thing called "Drive-bys" started to occur. People who are actually entrants in the contest would go and vote a "1" for

their competitors. You know, it's the age-old addage:

"If you don't have the ability to rise up above the crowd, simply bring the crowd down and you will appear to have risen. "

My request for assistance is for votes. I need your votes for the book to see the light of day.

Voting for The Occuscript ends "sometime" on February 14th, having completed its 14-day run. I know it's a lot to ask. I

debated even mentioning it here. I simply can't think of any other way to give The Occuscript a fighting chance.

I'm almost out of time! Here's the link to vote:
