Nikon DSLRs can give eye-opening results

There are 5 comments on the Orlando Sentinel story from Feb 20, 2009, titled Nikon DSLRs can give eye-opening results. In it, Orlando Sentinel reports that:

I am no camera buff. I bought my first digital camera only three years ago, and I often prefer to use the 2-megapixel camera in my iPhone rather than carry around another gadget.

It seems all cellular phone cameras use plastic image sensors rather than the glass image sensors in dedicated digital cameras. Apparently this is true for 5mp and 8mp camera phones on the market now too.

Camera phones are no comparison to DLSR's.

If you have evr owned a SLR you would know what I mean.

In the right hands you can get some really awesome pictures.

But they are bulky and expensive.

I would be impressed if they could produce the same results with an Iphone or other PDA.

But until then I will stick with SLR's for real pictures.

Your writer is spot on with his support of DSLR's but why not be realy brave and get a Nikon D700 this is an amazing bit of kit - you might need to abstain from eating for a while though as it's a tad expensive.

has this tech writer ever said much of anything negative or neutral - he just bubbles with praise. this is a tech fanboy, not a real reviewer.
see the WSJ for a look at how this job is supposed to be done.
this small-timer has never met any tech he doesn't love, at least see merit in. tech vendors will never get real with panting enthusiasm like this, a preach to the choir audience of "bring it on" boosterism
especially tone deaf on a day when the recession is labeled by the feds as "severe."
good luck to the new wife, who is mentioned over and over. wait till this tech spender's purchases come out of her paycheck. duck!

Fluff piece. Looks like material recycled from the marketing brochures.

"Oh the D90 takes better pics than my camera phone!" LOL

If you are in the market for a DSLR, Steve's or DPReview has quality information to help make your decision (I am not affiliated with them in any way).

Sounds like the author used evaluation cameras for his wedding instead of really testing them. No wonder newspapers are losing readership and going under.
