Fraud is endemic on eBay "nominal-start" auctions ...

If you try to buy anything at a “nominal-start” auction on any eBay website, you need to take great care ...

Shill bidding fraud by professional sellers on eBay “nominal-start” auctions is demonstrably endemic; wherever you see bidders bidding early and often on such auctions they will most likely be sellers' shills, and eBay Inc. is demonstrably the greatest calculated facilitator of such fraud on consumers that the world is ever likely to know. Only the most naïve will believe that there will not be a trickle down effect of like criminal activity to all other eBay operations ...

Having now further anonymised buyers’ IDs in its Feedback Forum, the only thing that surprises me about eBay—this lazy, greedy, utterly unscrupulous, criminal operator—is that they have not yet summoned up the gall to even further obscure all this endemic shill bidding fraud—that it knowingly facilitates—by converting its auctions wholly to its optional, devious, seller-selected, "private listing" format, or by changing bidding IDs to "Bidder 1", "Bidder 2", "Bidder 3", etc, as they initially were going to do/did when Johnny Ho first introduced the additional layer of anonymity for (shill) bidders in 2008, nor have they yet ceased to publish the details of "completed" listings, a post-sale analysis of which, with some effort, can clearly demonstrate this endemic fraud, and eBay's calculated facilitation thereof, on the consumers of the world ...

What a travesty of justice it is that the relevant regulatory authorities will do nothing to even stop this endemic ongoing auction fraud, let alone prosecute eBay, or its knowing executives, for the calculated facilitation thereof ...

eBay’s real problem is that it appears that their database programmers are simply incapable of creating a logical system; regardless, as long as eBay believes that the clunky system that they have does not directly harm them or their “preferred” sellers, all is well in the world as far as eBay is concerned; if one of those preferred sellers reports a “problem” you can bet that eBay would ensure that that seller would not be penalized in any way; but, for the remaining hoi polloi—no safe journey for you, no lifeboat, not even a buoyancy vest …

Westfield does, at the least, macro-manage its tenants in its malls; eBay has clearly stated that it hopes to create an up-market online mall for those same “major brands” of the world; but, any small–medium sized seller that thinks that there is ultimately going to be any place for them on Johnny Ho’s online “Westfield” mall is dreaming; of course, the same thing could be said of Johnny Ho’s “Westfield” mall dream—utterly delusional …

In the meantime, probably everyone is suffering; notwithstanding the nonsense that the, probably incentivized, stock market analyst shills and the eBay Dept of Spin suggest, eBay’s shareholders have never seen a dividend—cash or otherwise; indeed, relative to the market in general, and in particular to Amazon, eBay’s shareholders are going backwards; only Johnny Ho and his gang have been taking home piles of cash in the form of performance bonuses—in fact, unearned!
