Same-Sex Marriage Trumps Religious Liberty in New Mexico

Full story: The Heritage Foundation

Earlier today, the Supreme Court of New Mexico ruled that the First Amendment does not protect a Christian photographer's ability to decline to take pictures of a same-sex commitment ceremony-even when doing so would violate the photographer's deeply held religious beliefs.

Meanwhile, our borders still flow freely with Killers, rapists,, Muslim Terrorists, etc. America is going down the drain at an astounding rate thanks to the Muzzie in office. I am sick of queers in my face. They will never stop demanding their special rights, just like the Mexicans.

You post a foaming-at-the-mouth tirade against Muslims, gays and Mexicans, and yet at the same time you purport to be a persecuted Christian? You better look in the mirror, Bubba Jay, it is YOU who is doing the persecuting. I know that "hypocrite" is a pretty complicated word for an inbred dumbass like you to understand, but go look it up. Moreover, hate and bigotry are not Christian values. You are no more of a Christian than is the Reverend Fred Phelps.

I assume this thread was triggered by Bosson's attitude expressed as follows:

“But there is a price, one that we all have to pay somewhere in our civic life,” the justice wrote.“The Huguenins have to channel their conduct, not their beliefs, so as to leave space for other Americans who believe something different. That compromise is part of the glue that holds us together as a nation, the tolerance that lubricates the varied moving parts of us as a people.”

I guess I should not be surprised that a justice would be this utterly ignorant and uneducated.

Our beliefs result in our conduct.

If one doesn't respect life, which is a belief, then one's conduct reflects that. Murder.

Conduct is dictated by belief. If you believe SOMETHING DIFFERENT, like in murdering, raping, and stealing to get your kicks ... THEN WE DON"T MAKE ROOM FOR THEIR BELIEFS.

No, Bosson, you have no idea what you are talking about. You are not qualified to sit on the bench. And since liberty itself is the very power to NOT associate with people you don't want to, you have effectively ruled against everyone's basic human right to just say no.

Never mind the obvious fact that no one has a right to anyone's service, like photography.

Unbelievable.

Now, watch the liberals (which really means fascist bigots) swarm about and attempt to debate away reality.

Sorry, but those who blame God for their bigotries, are not entitled to special exemption from laws prohibiting discrimination by business owners. It really is that simple.

There is no bigotry. And we don't need God to tell us that homosexual behavior is unhealthy. Science already tells us that. Anal sex has some serious side effects, because it's not natural.

No one is asking for a special exemption. It is a basic human right not to associate with people you don't like, or whose actions are offensive. You do not get to tell us what WE SHOULD BE, OR NOT BE OFFENDED BY. This. the Photography people were denied there second basic right .... liberty itself.

Pretty simple.

It is actually a legitimate concern. First Amendment rights are not to be fluffed off. And they do include religion. Call it a more libertarian view of freedom. Let's not do the normal reductio ad absurdum to make a point.

Is interesting, though, that the supremes can rule on this but sit out on deciding whether SSM is good to go. And they could have for the same reasons in their responses. Couldn't be for political reasons now or religious ones could it?

Their silence on this speaks political.

Science when it is on your side. Anal sex? Where have you been. Behind? And as anyone knows...science is both political and social. We look at and study our biases. We don't look beyond that. Sorry you have gone off the deep end. I am sorry and embarrassed.

..........
The majority of gay folks do not practice anal sex, and a majority of straight folks have tried it, so your point here is a bit weak.

And if God had a problem with his gay children, he would not make so many and bless our lives and families in so many ways, don't you think? Complain to Him about his "error", not us.

It's pretty simple.

Um dear, anal sex, not not a synonym homosexuality.
Yankee Yahoo wrote:

Dear, the law is pretty darn clear, in New Mexico it is illegal to discriminate in the providing of goods and services on the basis of sexual orientation. The Hugenins are insisting that their God given right to 'disapprove' of homosexuality gives their business a special exemption to the law.
Yankee Yahoo wrote:

The answer is simple, if you don't want to associate with the gay folk, don't go into the business of providing goods and services to the public. There are gay folk out there whether you approve or not and they have the right not to be excluded from full participation in the public square.
Yankee Yahoo wrote:

I'm not telling them not to be flaming bigots, or that they don't have to be offended by whatever. I'm simply saying that if you want to provide goods and services in the public square and the law classifies sexual orientation as one basis that you may not legally discriminate against someone for, bigots beware.
Yankee Yahoo wrote:

Pretty simple.
Dear, as individuals they still have the liberty as individuals to pray that God disapproves of homosexuality as much as they pray he does, but as business owners, their liberty to do many things is restricted more than the rest of the general public. It is that simple.

As an individual, she has the right to pray that God 'disapproves' of homosexuality as much as she does, but as a business owner providing goods and services to the public, she must follow the same laws as other business owners. They cannot discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, her choice of beliefs does not exempt her from that. Sorry.

Religious sex brainwashing is not an excuse to justify criminal activity by a business owner

The photographer should have read her business license to learn the rules before she made a fool of herself

'Love' is not the same as 'justice', Biblical norms have managed a Christian society that we live in ad equivocally God says 'NO MAN SHALL LIE WITH MAN', 'NO WOMAN SHALL LIE WITH WOMAN' We are Christians not liers.
